Aww, when I saw this as the top topic I thought Hearty might have posted his thoughts. Come on, man, watch it already.

I wasn't enthralled. I may have been distracted but it didn't grab me.

Haven't watched it and don't think I will. I was aware the season had resumed but the break of two or three months has crystallised in my mind just how mean, gruelling, grinding, incoherent, directionless, poorly written, appallingly paced, filled to the brim with magically transforming kitchen utensils, and let's simply call it what it really is, fucking boring, that I find I have not even the slightest residual desire to inflict any more of it on myself.

My Netflix watchlist alone is about three miles long, and like everyone, I only have so much free leisure time to do the things I want to do - and TWD isn't taking any more of it up.

So then TWD, you were great, then good, then average, then poor, and now you are the weakest link - goodbye.

Oh yes, and I'd forgotten about the tiger, thanks for me reminding of that totemic beacon of its descent into total shittery, as it means I'm not now running the risk of seeing the ridiculous thing on my screen again.

As someone who gave up a bit after the jail series, the best thing about the show was Hearthly's write-ups of his self-harm viewing sessions :(

I wonder if Negan will kill the tiger, the tiger will kill him or neither. Definitely one of those things will happen, mark my words.

Constructive criticism!

At least I make some effort to actually explain what I don't like about it, and what I think it does wrong, instead of 'Great show man', 'Yeah awesome', 'Fantastic!' etc

The best bit about this latest episode was how utterly ineffectual the zombies surrounding Rick and Michonne were. Six or more of the fuckers around Rick and not a one even attempted to bite him through his plot armour.

Yep. There was no threat so it was silly. Neither were going to die in such a contrivance.

20 minutes in and I can't do much but visibly shudder at how TWD has turned from a watchable post-apocalypse zombie drama to this ridiculous comic book bullshit nonsense.

Bloody junkyard-robo-zombie.

EDIT: Christ, and the evolution of language since the outbreak... This is unwatchable.

I didn't think it was that bad. Not sure why the weird people talk as they do, and the green screen was noticeable, but the Carol, Morgan and Daryl bits are still good.

Main problem right now is that Rick et al are wearing mighty thick plot armour, so all the supposedly scary scenes are kinda not scary.

It was like a TOS, the fight Spiky, and the greenscreen.

I hope it sorts itself out.

Actually wanted Neegan to turn up and stove in the heads of all those Junkyard LARPers.

Holy shit, it's actually a good, honest to goodness, decent episode today with some nice nuanced and ambiguous character acting. Why can't every episode but like this. Y'know, without any fucking tigers, robot zombies, bad CGI or terrible actors spouting drivel.

Yes. It was pretty good. I love Negan and his leadership book from HMS Bounty. The ones without Rick are a lot better.

My allefiance switched from Team Rick to Undead United in S2, then to Govenor Town, then back to Undead United, now it is with Negan's Rovers.

It felt like a filler episode but it was oooo-kay.

Mind you, I'm sick of Rick et all falling over and not immediately standing up. The fake tension was terrible.

Just like the CGI.

I thought it was a Llamasoft game for a minute there.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I was absolutely convinced Rick was dead. Honest. I was crying and everything because he was clearly dead and NO WAIT HE'S ALIVE AGAIN. Shocked

Also that was a Trump level negotiation. "How many guns do you need?", "Lots", "How many is lots?", "Like that, only twice as many so we can have another episode."
