Just to balance it out I thought I'd post in here too.

Had a lovely couple of days in London catching up with people I hadn't seen for years in some cases!

Had my first ever trip to a casino, and the first time I've been to Borough market too (turns out I don't like orange stuffed olives). Had a lovely wander around Camden and bought a couple of bits; Joans keeps wandering his gaze to his new canvas wall art.

Sitting in a pub on a Friday afternoon enjoying a cider was a particularly nice treat. There is definitely something to be said for visiting London during the week!

Also; Fort! :D

I had a recruitment consultant phone me on Friday about a job opening at a company very near to where I live. It's working in the print industry again, which I was fairly pleased about leaving barely 6 months ago, but they're specifically after someone with print experience and Mac technical support experience - basically, they're looking for me. And apparently they've had a bit of a struggle finding someone else with my CV, so they're talking potential salaries well beyond what I currently earn. We're talking *a lot* more than I currently earn. So naturally I had to apply.

They've called me up for an interview on Thursday afternoon.

So that's a bit of a yay! It's a bloody weird yay, because I actually really like the company I work for now and really thought I had left print behind, but they're dangling the sort of money in my face that I can't just ignore. I mean, they haven't offered me the job yet or anything, I still have to interview, but I know I have exactly the kind of skills and experience they're after and print is such an incestuous business that I also know I've got really good references. So I guess we'll see.

Interesting times and all that.

Got home last night and my son is crawling! He is almost 9 months now

For the last 3 months he has taken to my IPhone, he likes to touch the screen but mostly chew it (its in one of those shock proof rubber cases)

Last night he was on his front about 3 meters away from me, he was grumbling as he thought I was going to leave the room. I put the IPhone on the floor and he shot across the room and grabbed it!

Weekend will be spent installing plug guards, baby gates and moving ground level objects :DD

And I got home yesterday and the frame to that bit of the outside of your house where your gas and leccy metres are had been completely replaced! By magic.

The door had fallen off ages ago and the gas man or some kind soul had fitted a brand new frame and door while I was out. Didn't even tell me or nothing. Didn't even leave a note to tell me that they'd done it. Didn't want any thanks or nowt. Magic.

10 months later and my phone woes are finally sorted. After being sent a refurbed white iPhone 5 to replace my black one's cracked screen by the insurance, then suffering weak wifi signal and having it sent back for repair twice to no avail, I've finally been sent a replacement handset today. And because they don't have any 32GB in stock, I've got a brand new 64GB.

More relief than yay, I suppose. At least this phone will last me another couple of years now.

Had to drive down to maidenhead today for work. Grey and foggy on the way but clear blue skies on the way back so I had the sunroof wide open on my new car and the music all the way up and it was glorious.

And then Theo from dragons den overtook me.

I'd say that was a yay as well as obvious relief. I mean, as well as finally getting a proper functioning phone you have just a little something extra, which is always nice.

At this stage of my son’s development (9 months) it’s all about Mum, so whilst it’s no issue to be 2nd in the mind of somebody whose world revolves around 2 people I do feel the 2nd best thing now and again.

So last night I’m sat on the sofa and he starts to try and kiss me, but it’s more like a head butt\gum\bite combined. Then he lies on me and is really chilled out. So I call my wife and tell her he is being odd. She then tells me he is giving me a “love” and he does it with her all the time. So the first time he loves dad!

Then today I’m playing with him and hand him to my wife, he then gets really upset and my wife handed him back to me, he then giggled and gave me another odd cuddle\bite and was really pleased to be held by me.

There is no rivalry between my wife and I, but it’s so good to be flavour of the moment now and again!

Yay!

My e-zine interview with Inspired Eye is out, and I got the cover! The contents and ad are here:

http://www.theinspiredeye.net/product/i ... e-issue-8/

Flick through the little preview thing to see a taste. I fear I cannot yo-ho-ho it your way, but you'll have seen all the photos already. Also, I'm so good I appear to be mentioned twice in the contents. ;) As is tradition with editor Don Springer (sounds like a Mad Men character), his excellent eye, passion and street-photog skills are once again compromised by his talent for typos, which is why my name in one paragraph reads as Peter Evan's.

So now internet famous Peter Evan. :)

Think you can still get VIP tickets for Sat mate, but be quick (or be dead)

http://sonisphere.co.uk/buy-tickets/

£175 a pop, but you get free parking, no queues, a drink and posh bogs :D
(Yeah I know, not very metal etc., but fuck Festival toilets, man - especially at Knebworth)

Also, had my first ever offer for my flat.

However, it's also a Nay - it's on the market for £85K and they've offered £78.5K. That won't cover the outstanding mortgage, and I was considering taking it off the market anyway because I've spent a fair bit on it recently and frankly it seems silly to sell it when it'll do me for now.

Author:  GazChap [ Fri Apr 11, 2014 10:50 ]
Post subject:  Re: The 'Yay!' thread

I've managed to bump him up to £83.5K, so have accepted his offer.

This leaves me just about covering the outstanding mortgage, possibly leaving me a few hundred quid short.

So now I've got to find somewhere else to live, fucking sharpish. Preferably bought, not rented.
