Every year I think to myself that I should go to a prom, so for the hell of it I've booked myself a ticket to hear Mahler's 'Das Lied von der Erde' and other light classics in August.

I'm going to the CBeebies prom.

Also the one on Peckham carpark roof if I remember to phone them up and get my comps.

Tinky Winky would be the obvious choice. He can hold any walker/keys in his handbag that way and stop the line of his tux being ruined.

Will you meet Sarah & Duck?!

super well done honey. You work so hard and really care about your job and the work you do, so you absolutely deserve to wear this with pride. When does it all get made official? Do you have enough with e for the celebrations?

Thanks Meems, but I'll save the celebration for when I've actually passed it. It's been much harder than my last one for various reasons. Xx

About this time next year most of it, although my project won't have to be in until August, so I won't get final results until September at the earliest. We can celebrate at the cottage. :)

Hopefully, by the end of the day we'll have booked a cottage in Whitby for a few days. And then I might be able to take shitpants surfing.

Surfing in Whitby? Is that a thing?

I love Whitby. My mum grew up there, so we used to go a lot as kids. Never did go in the Dracula Experience, though.

It's currently 2 to 3 feet with a light offshore breeze. Friday might hit 3 to 5 which is probably at the upper end of my comfort zone nowadays.

If I'm honest? It's because since Darwin was born, actually since I had some health issues when I was pregnant and had a breakdown that I never had anyone to talk to about (apart from Russell, who was amazing, but I needed someone who wasn't suffering my problems with me, someone from a wider group of friends or associates) I have suffered numerous bouts of crippling agoraphobia mixed in with claustrophobia, so I'm a bit skittish. At times I haven't left the house without Russell for 3+ months. Yesterday was the first time I went out alone (well, with Darwin) for weeks and weeks). I just worry I'll crumble if someone grabs my pram again, or says something to or about me or my little guy that is hurtful or unkind.

Anyway, as this is the 'yay' thread, today I met another nervous mum. I met her in the Internet, through an app for nervous mums who don't know anyone and she was lovely. We drank coffee, her boy cried a bit and drew the most pointed filfthy looks from some miserable old woman, and I tried to be as reassuring and calm as I could. We've decided to meet again at a park for a picnic and play on the swings :)

I went to NCT classes, but didn't join as there is no NCT group near here. Our nearest one is 14 miles away, and I don't drive so any NCT activities are a bit beyond me getting to.

I've tried going to a few groups, but I'm always on the periphery of an established group and too nervous to get further in. The last one I went to (a library play and rhyme group) everyone switched into another language about 20-25 minutes into the free play time, so I sat the remaining time alone with Darwin in the corner feeling upset, and I can do that at home :D

There is a lovely children's area in that library, though, so I went down with Russell and Darwin on the Satrday to stock up on 'That's Not My ____ (Goat, Pig, Monster, Sheep, Duck, etc) books.
