House improvements are finished and TV is back in place and working

Decorated the living\dinning room along with new flooring and skirting. Also created a play room for our son by moving\chucking furniture. This room will also double up as a extra bedroom with nice sofa bed.

Also did a load of small things around the house, new lights, sockets, touched up paint work.

Had people helping me but have done a good 14 hours of cleaning\humping furniture over the last few days so ache a bit, but feel very happy at the end result.

I am going to New York tomorrow for seven nights. I am going to wet myself with excitement at least 12 times between then and now.

We're off to Cafe Wha one night and I've been forced to attend Ellen's Stardust Diner but I can pick the broadway show we go to.

The rest is currently mainly touristy stuff like the Statue of Liberty et al.

Go and find the Ghostbusters fire station. And eat at Katz.

It's fairly touristy but the big aircraft carrier that's a museum is pretty cool.

I went to New York the April after September 11th (it was cheap you see...) and the best thing I did over there was visit WWF New York. Of course, that's now closed but it was great.

We watched RAW live and it was the night that The Rock was put in an ambulance while the nWo crashed a truck into it. Brilliant.

Drink in The Peculiar Pub for it's hilariously large beer selection.

Will have to remember that one. Last time I was in New York, almost five years ago now, I had a pleasant evening in the Prohibition Bar.

I have a pintrest board of things I thought about doing before I went last; although the disclaimer is that I didn't update it after I came back so it's a mixture of stuff I did that I liked and stuff I didn't do.


Do both of these things. I squealed like Beatlesmaniac at Hook And Ladder Number 8, and despite it being a tourist spot, Katz's is great. (We asked Danielle's old college friend who is an Actual New York Jewish Guy for the best Jewish deli and he said Katz's.)

The Intrepid. I loved it. I didn't even mind paying an extra $20 each to get to see the Concorde they have, because -- and I can't stress this enough -- I got to sit in the cockpit of a Concorde.

I'm guessing you haven't eaten at a statistically significant sample of all the Jewish delis in Manhattan, though.

That's a good idea for holiday planning. Might give it a go myself - it's far easier to store and later check than multiple underlinings and post-its in guidebooks.

The thing I like best is that you can supply addresses for your pins and it'll put them on a map. Then you can pull your phone out when you're hungry and look at which of the lunch places you pinned is close to where you are.

Which is something I should attempt to remedy.
