He looks like he's beckoning you in for a kiss.

No, actual cuddle. He just seems so awesome.

He reminds me of my old manager (who is actually a slightly rotund beardy white man, so makes little sense), but he gives me a big cuddle and kiss when I see him, so I think it's because of that.

We are decidedly well represented in the slightly rotund beardy white man demographic.

Ah, but none of you is Idris Elba.

:luv:

Chloe and I were talking about him in the office today (because my old manager was there, and I was trying to get her to see how he could look like a man who is 2ft taller, made of muscle and a different race... she couldn't see it) but we decided that Idris Elba is so strong and solid that if he were walking down the street you could jump and cling onto his back and he'd just keep on walking, like you weren't there.

I think we're going to find him and try it.

If you'd come up with this plan last week I could have tested it for you.
I suspect you'd have more luck with a Mimi-sized passenger than me though.

Though I do have a sizeable passenger of my own right now.

I was writing on the white board at work (it's a magic wall... it's great being able to write all over the wall) and as I filled in all the information at above-eye level and stood back to admire all my hard work I realised that I'd erased all of the very important information that was at my belly level with my bump.

Maybe so, but he's not exactly a "slightly rotund beardy white man". I mean, in my opinion.

No, but working back from this, my ex manager is.

BUT my ex manager reminds me of Idris Elba.

So if HE can be like Idris Elba, maybe you can too?

Don't give up hope!

Result. I *could* have paid off my mortgage had I not moved to a bigger house.
I'm not sure if that was the right decision or not.

Like a dick, I forgot to send the text off that pays for my car parking, and the clampy-men and super-ticket-happy in the train carpark.

However, I get to my car and there's no sticker on it! Yay!

I pictured you standing in a shadowy room, looking around the edge of a heavy curtain at the bright world outside, saying this and then closing the curtain again.

Never thought I'd get so much mileage out of that. What fun. I think you've all been watching too many Cold War spy films.

Seriously, the swifts have started to arrive, and one of my simple joys is to sit in my garden of an evening and watch them in their aerial ballet, catching insects on the wing and, as the dusk falls, chasing each other around the houses at roof level.

And when they've gone wherever they go for the night (in next door's eaves, if they're nesting) a single bat flits around, hoovering up anything at low level that the swifts might have missed.

I was referring to the cold war thriller on the Beeb. I get the impression that that is not what you were all thinking of.

Perhaps someone should take me to one side for a quiet word.

Whatever that reference was, I've edited it out of the original post. Please accept my apologies, for whatever it was I did in my ignorance.

An DO try to enjoy the swifts.
