Unfortunately our new owners need me to do a proper ordered handover of all the IT systems. I'm doing this at quite a rapid pace so I'm hopeful I'll be able to get out a week or so sooner, but it's still dependent on them agreeing.

I'm doing everything I can to escape faster.

Had my quote for a big project confirmed this morning. If I can stick to deadlines I'll be earning half of my 2015 freelance income in just 2 months.

Finally changing my anxiety meds from Pregabalin (fat JC very addictive) to Buspar (not fat JC nowhere near as hungry).

Thankfully I've not had any rectal bleeding or sudden unexplained death yet. About the worst side effect so far has been the hiccups

I came off one of mine last month so only take 4 a day now rather than 6 (was a day and night dose).

Four day weekend, full cooked breakfast, Foo Fighters came on the radio, pulled pork slow cooking. Win.

Cooked a leg of lamb Moroccan style today, also cooked giant Couscous as part of the "sides" as well

The recipe called for the Couscous to be cooked in stock (veg in my case) as a pose to water

First time a side dish has taken more of my attention than the central lump of meat

Will be eating more of this from now on! My son loved it as well!

My little boy had giant couscous for the first time yesterday, too, with chicken potato and leek baked with red pesto and served with broccoli and cauliflower.

It was the first non-veggie meal he has had, so I'm dreading the other end.

I like giant cous cous added to soup for body. If you add some turmeric to the cooking water or stick it also gives a nice subtle flavour hint and look fun and golden.

I watched the snooker last night. Very close game at the time, need to check the score..

Darwin has been 99% crawling. He can go backwards and forwards on his hands and knees, bottom shuffling, rolling around. he can travel anywhere, he just doesn't quite have the 1, 2, 1, 2 rhythm of left and right hands and knees to go forwards at too quick a pace, but each day I've been certain that at any seconds he'll zoom across the room. For now, however, he can over quite enough ground by crawling in his special uncoordinated way. Because of this I have to be fast if I want to grab myself a jumper from the other room, such as I did today.

I left him in at one end of the room with all his toys, on his tummy, kind of doing the worm whilst playing with a train being driven by a dog with blue ears.

I was out of the room three, possibly four seconds.

When I came back he is at the other side of the room sitting up, just looking at me with a big grin.

He has been able to sit up a long while, but this was the first day that he got himself into a sitting position. Now he can't stop! It's great as he loves to sit up, but also likes to cruise around the room... But he would cruise around and then moan to be sat up in his new spot over and over... Now he can ge around and sit where he chooses. It's super cute

He's learned how to teleport. No wonder he looks happy.

Got confirmation today that I'm off down to That Fancy London in October as a VIP guest of Mr Richard Herring as he films AOITM.

I am not overly sure sitting in the front row of an improvised comedy show is the wisest move but colour me excited anyway.

Last week Mrs JC was doing her dmoz editing and all of a sudden her tablet switched off. The battery logo was blinking, as was the whole screen. I tried to explain that it could be fixable for a reasonable sum but she sort of panicked and bought an Ipad Air 2? is it? dunno. She's had the Galaxy 4 10" for about two and a half years and wanted something newer.

So she gave me the Galaxy. Quick look around and I found out how to get it apart and managed to buy a genuine Samsung battery and charging port (I wasn't sure which it was) both for £9. Ten minutes of reassembly today and we have one pristine Tab 4. I absolutely love fixing things
We decided to give it to my mum, who has a very small Amazon thing.

We're also going to Dorset at the weekend to see my step daughter and her fiancee (love them to bits) so that will be nice, and even though it's raining today it's still lovely and warm. I've bought a Titan X and a Titan X hybrid cooler too, so absolutely loads and loads to yay about

Didn't get to go to Dorset. My anxiety is awful and my IBS has flared up due to withdrawal from the meds I've just stopped. Mrs JC went on without me though. Any way that kinda sucks, but I got a really nice surprise. It's no secret that I love my step kids to bits. My eldest daughter is engaged to the most wonderful bloke ever. He's kind, he's gentle and he adores her. They both adore each other actually and they're wonderful people to boot. Any way, they do a VLOG every day which Mrs JC and I always watch of a night. A couple of months back my soon to be son in law started on a painting. Now I knew he was good with books (he's been to uni and passed with honors) and hopes to pen children's books someday (Harry Potter and the likes). Any way yeah, he did this painting of Amy Winehouse using only dots. It's absolutely incredible. Imagine my surprise when Mrs JC arrived home last night and he'd only framed it and given it to us.

So yay, my first ever piece of real art. And I will cherish it. I mean, I never had my own kids so never did get to stick silly pictures on my fridge and grin like an idiot every time I passed them but this is, I would imagine, giving me the same feelings of yay. Just what I needed when I'm feeling so shitty (shakes, cold sweats upset tummy etc).

They add a lot of perspective to a world a lot of us take for granted; it's nice to take a step back and appreciate all the good bits in life.

We just got back from a week in Center Parcs! Without the kids! It was actually really, really great. Especially the 5 hours we spent in the spa on Thursday afternoon, such a welcome chance to totally unwind after paint-balling! I've come back all refreshed Which is unusual, as I often come back needing another week to get over a holiday!!

Here is the pic. I watched this being painted over weeks and weeks. It started out as a very shiny sheet of aluminium and he started painting on black dots. Then all of a sudden one day he zooms out the camera and bam ! there she was.

That is awesome

Darwin is crawling as of yesterday. The joy he has in just being able to go to his beaker if he's thirsty, or to get his monkey toy if he wants a cuddle is lovely.

Had tests and a procedure or 2 today that I've been putting off for ages

They have given me all clear on a number of cancers of things and there is nothing wrong, so big Yay

However the procedure involved putting a fiber optic camera somewhere that you should not poke things into, so a day off tomorrow to recover

Very pleased over all as I really expected my kidneys to be be a bit fucked given the drinking I did in my 20's and 30's
