Yeah, if you're remotely around the right place at 8:30 there's going to be people around for 2-3hours I'm sure.

So people know, go to Shunt if you get the chance. It's quite possibly the most fabulous place in London.

We spent the evening drinking on the back of a milk float 50' underground, in between watching people do odd gymnastics to music.

Isn't it just.

I feel the world is better simply for knowing such a place can exist.

Shunt is indeed a truly excellent venue.

Just a shame I had to spend my time there with a bunch of internet nerds.

:p

Yeah, but it could have been worse - they could have spent time with you.

Did you get any work done, Lave?

I really enjoyed the text message I received about this event and/or piss-up. It was great fun. Let's do it again sometime.

Yes, one of your number last night was secretly relaying me information by text message. I have received useful details such as "I'm in a pub with grim, Craster, squirt, curiosity etc" and instructions like "post damnit". So I am.

I managed to miss my last direct train last night, so I had to get a taxi from Purley, which was a bit of a pain. I could have sworn there was a 12.15 one. Ho hum.

I just had time to grab a baguette from Upper Crust on the way to my train. It was, as they always are, disappointing.

I did feel a little like Chris Martin though as I left the bar into that tunnel, and jogged down it.

"Iiiiiiii, will fix yooooooo!"

Dudley and I had a sort of pizza thing. I thought it was quite nice, although I didn't think I would.

And if anyone hasn't worked it out, I was SMSing JamesOff. I shall tell him to stop drinking in the middle of the day.

I wanted to hold the sign, but that seat was taken. :'(

If I ever need to impress an avant garde friend, I shall take them to Shunt though. That place was awesome. Halfway between a seedy cabaret bar and a scrap yard.

I wasn't in work last week, and didn't feel like going all the way into London on a day off (so I didn't bother going to see my friend's band either). Colour-me-lazy.

But! I will keep an eye out for future beardy club outings and try to make those.

Hmm - several people ask the same question I did though - how exactly do you update a NIC's firmware over the wire? I've never seen any that would let you.
