Depends whether you like it or not. Me and Dimrill say yes, it's rather good. Silly people disagree, and say Bayonetta is the best game ever.

And then there's me, who loved Assassin's Creed and Bayonetta.

Anyone still see this around? Back in the 80's you couldn't get hold of Coca Cola or Pepsi for love nor money in places like Bournemouth.

Wow, that worldofstuart.com site has got more than a little disturbing. Unhinged even. It won't end well.

I've heard of fighting fire with fire, but that site is fighting fire with mentalism. I couldn't even read all of the latest articles they were so stalkerish, sick and just plain unhinged.

In Oxford, there's a place at the bottom of the High Street, and also one in the Covered Market.

If it has run onto light colours/whites you might try some Dylon Runaway (available in supermarkets in the laundry section near the stain removers). I have only used it to remove stage make-up but it is actually manufactured for the problem you have.

Thank you very much. I will see if there is any in the supermarket when I go later. Much obliged.

Emailed SKY re: braodband speed. It's 0.9 today.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Good morning.

I have the Sky Unlimited Broadband package. Over the past two weeks, the download speed has not been over 1Mb/s. The lowest was 0.3Mb/s and the highest that has been seen in all the time I have been with SKY is 1.5Mb/s.

When will the connection exceed the 1.5Mb/s? Given the average speed (for those on the same SKY Broadband package) during May was , according to the latest OFCOM report (here: http://tinyurl.com/3xmtlfo), between 7.0 and 9.3Mb/s this is most disappointing. You can imagine my dismay at this, especially when I am subscribed to the higher level package and, accordingly, paying the premium for this service.

I look forward to swift resolution of these issues. Please feel free to contact me via email at the address above, or by telephone.

Yours sincerely,

Malicious Afterthought

Nothing will probably come of it, but I'm getting narked by this now.

Was it faster before you had sky? If it's doe to a crappy location or crappy wiring between you and the exchange, there's not masses Sky can do about it.

Highest speed was twice what it is currently.

I want to log the problem again, although, the BT website seems to imply that changes are afoot, as it seems to be saying that things will be better come 30.7.10, although I am not holding out for that.

Christ, this is going to be a long week.

Had a note through the door yesterday from my neighbour, apologising profusely and letting me know they were going to be having builders in to knock down an internal wall. This will take four days, starting today.

Sometimes working from home sucks.

The mites are still plaguing my kitchen, despite the pest controller having treated the place twice now.

Don't know where the hell they're still coming from.

Without wishing to offend but....

Have you bleach cleaned everywhere in the kitchen where they are near? Like, totally everything?

Also, check if you've any plants in there, they could be coming from the plants.

:this:

I once went to visit a friend who was having a terrible trouble with mites appearing all over the living area. No matter what she did they kept appearing. I had a look around and actually jumped back in horror - there was a tall potted plant and the earth/soil was moving like a pulsing wave. She'd repotted the plant some time earlier and the soil must have been infested. We threw the plant away to be on the safe side. Perhaps could have been re-potted but we couldn't bring ourselves to try :S

If you haven't yet bleached everything then I find the easiest way to do this is to get one of those cheap trigger spray bottles, fill it with 23rds bleach, 1/3 water, cover up with a face mask and googles, spray everything with the windows open and go out for a couple of hours, come back, water down, mop up. Don't forget to pull out the freezer and spray behind there, etc, and also along the skirting boards and where the sink/countertops meet walls.

Also, you've probably already done this, but throw away any old flour/grains you may have in the kitchen.

The cupboards are all completely bare, we've thrown everything out except the dishes etc. which are in the bath waiting to be washed.

The entire kitchen was bleached by Shin and myself a couple of Sundays ago over a period of 8 hours, and they came back overnight. Pest controller came Friday to spray it all, and it's killed a lot of them but they're still hanging on from somewhere.

Thing is, there's so many nooks and crannies in the kitchen that they could be hiding in, it's gonna be near impossible to sort out I think. There only needs to be one adult there laying eggs and there's another infestation :(

Just because that's your closest exchange doesn't mean that's the one you are plugged into (although with that sort of distance you'd hope so).
If you have neighbours, it might be worth asking them what they're getting.

Otherwise, you know, Virgin XXL.

I just did that for him. It's not great news.

Orange and AOL seem do be delivering quite well, Sky not so much.

It's based on people that have done their speed test near where you live, so it's far more accurate than simply 'guessing'. What does their speed test say you get?

Also, bear in mind that the people around you might have only ordered 2Mb broadband.

Didn't seem to work for me. The map shows an 0.47Mb result but I'm getting 3.2 at the moment.

How do you "publish" your result?

Quote:
Judging by your distance from this exchange (4058 meters*), the maximum speed you are likely to achieve with AOL is 1.5Mbps.

Yes yes, I know that, but I'm getting 3.2.

Oh well.

Someone (somewhere else -Ed) just needed to be explained to what MaliTowers was.

That being said, everything on Top Gear is staged. Watch the star in the car closely and you'll often see numberplates change on their way round.

To the point where the lap times are fake, or that they just cherry-pick the best moments for the film itself?

Also, Tom Cruise's lap was a bit messy and didn't seem that fast, making me of a mind to declare bullshit on his laptime.

Were you watching a different lap to me? He didn't do the Hammerhead that well and missed third at least once, but I've never seen anyone take those last two corners like he did.
That being said, everything on Top Gear is staged. Watch the star in the car closely and you'll often see numberplates change on their way round.

It was an impressive lap, to be sure, and those last two corners and his whole two-wheels bit was fantastic, I just would've thought it was a bit too messy to deliver that good a laptime. I will confess to being naturally suspicious that the biggest star they've ever had appear on the show just so happened to pull off the fastest lap also.
