Awlright! Our landlady's insane!

We're due to move out and move into a new property on the 1st July. She wants us out on the 30th. This despite the fact that she's sold the property to new homeowners who can clearly wait an extra day. Off home in ten minutes to check if our contract says 'up to and including the 30th July' instead of 'out on the 30th July'. Either way we're not budging on this one, and frankly I question her sanity - I mean, the only other option we have is to camp out on the doorstep, which is going to be great for the new owners isn't it?

She's also demanding we clean up now to prepare for an inspection. The place isn't a mess at all, but she's anally retentive - and I just know she's going to try and screw us out of our bond on the damp that came overnight during winter, despite it appearing in the room that was the extension and the fact that the house is only single-glazed.

Great news day, eh? First no Green Man, now this. Tch.

Although not as bad as Mr Russell's bad news, clearly. Sorry to hear about it, mate. Really hope you find a new awesomo employer soon. :(

The law about getting tenants out is very specific. If she didn't send you a letter via recorded delivery two months ago you don't even need to leave on the 1st, let alone the 30th. Tell her you will be respecting the letter of your contract.

I don't even think about it tbh. I mean, the dollops of clarot and grot that come out when frying it off is pretty gross.

Once cooked though it transforms into something marvellous. I use lamb's livers now. They're more delicate and tastier IMO. Cheaper, too.

New Amiga. Not quite sure how many sales they'll get at £1,500 a pop though.

Has anyone got a German handy that might be amenable to checking a translation? My Dad's been sent
PDF in an email wrote:

I coped with the cover email but was stumped by enough of the above that I asked Google, which I think did a reasonably coherent job
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
here we will confirm the reservation for the R-00003275 07/15/2010 to 07/17/2010. The space is reserved on the W008 + space tourists to the natural lake of the said persons.

We wish you a safe journey and a relaxing holiday in the recreation area "Haddorfer Lakes"!

The reservation is binding only on the cash receipt of the deposit. If the payment is not made until the payment, the booking will be automatically deleted.

If you do not remain the reservation can accept the deposit as a cancellation fee in case of failure and us. We ask for this specifically for your understanding.

Please park on the street and register first, otherwise there is a traffic jam in front of the barrier.
The 'payment by payment' bit is obviously cack-handed; I presumed there's a date by which some or all of the fee must be paid. So I thought I'd asked Babelfish. It's a drunken mentaller

I especially liked "amplifier-change-eat." But somehow it manages to make slightly more sense regarding that one specific bit that Google doesn't cope with; that is "the deposit must be pre-paid by [unmentioned date], otherwise we cancel it automatically."

Perhaps you should have just looked at the screen, it was the third one down (one above B&B) when you posted that.

Obviously, the last post in it was about Frank there.

Denied.

I actually clicked buy to see if they delivered to the UK as it would make a brilliant birthday present for a mate of mine.

I am so sad right now.

The missus has just text me saying she’d like to go to stratford this weekend for a birthday surprise. Now, apart from being mind blowingly furious about missing Dr Who and having to watch it on the iPlayer… I’m up for a nice weekend away.

The only problem is.. We’ve got a load of washing to do! (Clothes washing that is…) and since I normally spend all day Saturday doing the washing let’s throw it out to the group.

When should I do the washing? Should I…

1) Put the washing machine on over night then peg it out in the morning risking being late for work? (I will DEFINITELY be late for work)
2) Put the washing machine on when I get home and leave the washing out overnight?
3) Throw everything away and buy new clothes?
4) Something else that I haven’t thought of?

These are all burning questions people!!!

In this weather, your washing should only take an hour or so to dry outside. So do it after work and bring it in before it gets dark.

I wish I had such troubling problems.

It's so mild at the moment that if you get in at about 7, do the washing which should take about half an hour, peg it out it'll likely be dry before you go to bed. Check the forecast - if it's dry it'll be fine on the line overnight, but you will need to be aware that clothes left on the line overnight are more susceptible to being treated as handy homes by all kinds of bugs and food for moths.

I have to be very careful when putting clothes on the line. There's a certain spot just below an overhanging branch which provides a free layer of bird shit for any item placed underneath it.

The wife hung out a full load of washing yesterday. She didn't bring it in before the sprinklers all came on....
