Or did you mean articles available online? There's a guy on YouTube called TotalHalibut who did a good series of commentating on his first few games back when SC2 came out, analysing what he did wrong and stuff. I'll link when I get to my PC in a bit.

Got this last week, working my way through the single player stuff to get a hang of it before heading over to the multiplayer side of things where I am fairly sure I will fail in a spectactular blaze of flames and fire.

Edit:
Day 9 does some really good tutorial videos http://day9tv.blip.tv

Last night I enjoyed the few missions I played through, the best one was where...

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I covered Tychus while he stomped around in the Thor :metul:

...now do I get to use them?

yeh but the single player campaign is pretty wank tbh, the mission you get a new unit on is the only mission that unit is really needed, and since you get a new unit most missions you end up not really seeing the blighter's again until you go multiplayer :D Thors rock against Mutalisks (i play mainly Zerg so not sure how great they are for other encounters)

ohhh did you get the little easter eggs? iirc there is a Tauren outhouse in one of the very early missions, if you click on it a few times it launches and keeps popping up in the cinematic's throughout the rest of the game, a few nods to Diablo and WoW all the way throughout (murloc space marine springs to mind). Anyway off to loose a few more games.

Well I've enjoyed playing through it all so far, and it's acts as a tutorial for when I'm playing more multi-player games.

When are the Protoss and Zerg campaigns out?

I finished off the campaign last night

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I decided to cut off the nydus worm network and I was slightly annoyed by zerg constantly being catapulted into my base. I went for the nydus worm so I wouldn't have zerg in my base. I actually found the last mission fairly easy.

My couple of games so far have been alright, I've played the novice maps and noticed that if you go mass marines with a few medevacs you can take down most people at about the 12 min mark.

So as far as MP is concerned, it's always best to go for an all out attack and never spend on defences around your base(s)?

I can't speak specifically for SCII yet, but basic RTS skirmish principles apply - the answer is no.

The answer is - there is no answer. It totally, totally, completely depends on what your opponent is trying to do, which is why you should scout if possible and take a look. Base defences could help in a lot of circumstances, but so could building a large army of cheap units early on and rushing the enemy before they get up and running properly. See also: are they building air attack units, naval, etc? What you do should depend on what your opponent is doing - there's never a catch-all strategy, and in such a finely balanced game as SCII, where every unit is theoretically as important and useful as every other, building base defences ought to be as legitimate a strategy as any other.

Personally, I'd always build units for base defence instead of building structures. Sure, I'll have a bunker on my ramp but nothing more than that.

Is it possible Blizzard make games that are just too good/full of stuff to do? With this and WoW, I'm worried I'll never get round to finishing all of the unplayed 360 games I have sitting around.

Still patching. Not played any multiplayer Starcraft before, of any iteration, nor any Warcraft multi. I was decently average at Company of Heroes - more so in micro than in economy. I fully expect a beating.

This better be the last patch, the fact that it doesn't even hint at overall progress is infuriating. Still not as diabolically monstrous as Company of Heroes patching process though. *Shudder*

Cool, I've got to eat first anyway. Also - downloading World of Tanks beta which has gone open today! Woot!

(At about 1.8k per second via bit-torrent that is, boo-urns)

I almost don't want to share this with you guys because it's so damn helpful.

You can set your waypoints to an actual unit rather than an area so whatever you build will always go and catch up with your main army! The little stuff like this is what makes it for me. This is by far the deepest "fast-paced" RTS I've ever played.

Fairly sure this is pointed out in the campaign. If you're impressed by that, you'd probably explode if you learned all the Dawn of War tricks.
