Someone on Facebook just posted a group picture from a school trip sometime around 1990 which shows ~13 year old me second from the left on the back row. It's also the most 90s thing you'll ever see with acres of shell suit material and plenty of dungaree.

Are you the one with glasses or the one looking at the floor?

Look how cool the kid in the middle of the front row is! The guy next to him - not so much.

On top of Ben Nevis, freezing cold outside the refuge (this was mid-June).
A flag had helpfully been placed outside, just in case we momentarily thought we were up Snowdon.

The metal shack behind you lends this photo a "Fallout-esque" vibe to it.

That's as high as I'm willing to go. The whole pic shows our captain standing defiantly above the trench line.

Easy re-enactment for me...just had to stand there and fire for three hours as the rebels came towards us. I'm still pouring sand out of my gear, however.

Well, you do have the devastating good looks and chiseled features...

What were you up to in mid 1979?

Hmmmmm.... lemme think....
1 Jan - I'd have been at home, probably having a lie-in after New Year's Eve revelry.
2 Jan - was a Tuesday, so I'd probably have been back at work.
3 Jan - washing my hair
4 Jan - drying my hair (it was very long in those days)
5 Jan - Looking forward to the weekend and doing as little work as possible
6 Jan - the Weekly Big Shop
7 Jan - I can never remember what I did on Sundays. Possibly servicing all our sex toys after their rigorous use over the 'festive' period, if ya know warra mean. :hat:

Should I continue? There are some 'stains' in my journal, so it's not too easy to decipher for the rest of the year.
