Just realised that not only is it BeexDay, it's also 4 years or 208 Wednesdays since we started GPOYWing.
So, to celebrate, here's a pic of me from 24th March 2008 - two days before BeeX and two years before GPOYW, followed by a rubbish one of me watching the 6 Nations the other Saturday.

Based on what I've seen on the Cherwell, people think it is. The paddle is there for emergencies and for pushing off the bank, not for power. Don't use the pole as if it's a kayak paddle - just drop and push. Use it to steer like a tiller. And don't ever, ever, punt from the Cambridge end.

Finally, remember: if the pole gets stuck, let go of the pole, not the boat.

One day, I'd like to do it one-handed.

I've only ever punted from the Cambridge end.

Assuming you actually meant Cambridge.

Oxford punts have a slopey end and a raised flat end. It's traditional to punt from the slopey end here. To confuse Oxonians, punts in Tabland have two flat ends.

Things I have learned today:

A) The Taliban enjoy a spot of punting.
B) I may be a tad dyslexic.

I've decided to let my hair grow out a bit. Thought I'd just see what it did naturally without me having it clippered down all the time. Turns out that what it does naturally is ... turn into a Mohican. WTF?

It's because you are frowning and drawing your eyebrows together. It causes the mass above to rise up and meet in the middle.

Basically, your head is like the globe. Plate tectonics in action, mountainous hair.
