Managed to catch a tranny last night. One bit me before I could net it, though. Woke up today to find a mysterious thing being built in the town between the museum and the Able Sisters. Can't wait to find out what it is. I don't think it's the club that I had to gather signatures for, as he was next to the downward stairs by Nook's Real Estate when i returned the petition. :S

Was it Boy George? You don't want to be letting him bite you.

Aye, 15k! Supposedly "rare", but I caught four in a row the other day when I was trying for Char. It was that which makes me think they've tinkered with the spawn rates.

I've cut down a few simply because I've planted so many fruit trees that I thought I could thin out a few plain trees for the more colourful and profitable fruit ones. I've heard some talk of tree ring patternings on the stumps, but all mine have been plain.

I had a star pattern on one of mine.

Have we discussed turnips yet?

I believe the general consensus in this game is that it's easier to make money elsewhere, but personally I'm still buying as many as I can and last week I doubled my outlay, and with that profit I paid off the remainder of my mortgage at that time, so for me I'm still content to dabble.

I haven't bought any turnips yet but I definitely will be later on. Even a small profit would be worth it I think.

Is the turnip seller around all day? And where would I find him?

You'll need to look out for Joan (she's a pig, or something), who is usually to be found walking around by the Town Hall, however she's only there for set times - from memory in the previous game it was only until midday, and only on a Sunday.

I spent 80k this morning. Here's to a tidy profit!

800 turnip investment here too.

You can sell turnips in other people's towns so if you get a good price, invite them over.

Talking of which, I've only just worked out how to ,best friend' people properly. I'll do that as I meet people from now on. Shame you can't do it retroactively.

Managed to bag loads of lychees earlier, doing one of the games on the island, so have planted half a dozen of these around my town.

Also shook a tree and an awesome flat screen TV fell out, which now proudly takes centre stage in my house.

Never bothered with turnips and never will. The only use I find for them is to put on the ground to rot for flies and ants.

Oh how I wish these posts applied to real life. I would be so content to farm turnips and get all my gadgets from shaking trees.

I did the turnip trading once on the GameCube, messed up first time and never bothered again. IMO the beetle-spawning island makes the turnip trading a far less important means to take in the dough...

Oh and in Non-AC news, I'm really loving Donkey Kong. It's a belter of a 2D platform game. Highly recommended.

I'm getting better organised in this now. Have built one extra bridge with another nearing completion, plus a few smaller things like street lamps.

Also starting to mentally plan a total revamp of my trees, and over the next week will start to chop most of the buggers down and plant fruit in groups.

The Nook store has upgraded for me now too, and the shoe shop has also opened.

Had a bizarre looking pink animal harassing me today, asking me to get enough signatures from the others so she could open up a nightclub. Sounded like a good idea, so I went with it.

Loving all the extra shops and whatnot in this game. :)

Dr Shrunk? I think he is an axolotl, but I'm not sure that's ever been stated in previous games.

He reminds me of Dr Jacobi in Twin Peaks.

Good one. I think he's been in my town twice now, and though I've wandered in to take a look, I'd avoided buying anything yet as I remembered being fleeced by him in the last game.
