Hi,

I am growing a moustache this year for Movember. I have decided to put down my razor for one month (November) and help raise awareness and funds for men’s health – specifically prostate cancer.

What many people don’t appreciate is that one man dies every hour of prostate cancer in the UK, more than 35,000 men will be diagnosed this year and that prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved and I am hoping that you will support me.

To donate to my Mo, you can either:

• Click this link http://uk.movember.com/mospace/44155/ and donate online using your credit card, debit card or PayPal account
• Write a cheque payable to ‘The Prostate Cancer Charity - Movember’, referencing my Registration Number and mailing it to: Movember - The Prostate Cancer Charity, First Floor, Cambridge House, Cambridge Grove, London, W6 0LE.

Movember is now in its third year here in the UK and, to date, has achieved some pretty amazing results by working alongside The Prostate Cancer Charity. Check out further details at: http://uk.movemberfoundation.com/research-and-programs.

If you are interested in following the progress of my Mo, click here http://uk.movember.com/mospace/44155/. Also, http://uk.movember.com has heaps of useful information.

Thank you

Good work, lad! Aren't you worried about terrifying your newborn with your fearsome facial hair though?

Could the title be edited to reflect the fact it is a sponsor scrounge?

I think you can do it yourself. Just edit the first post and change the title there.

I've got to be bloody careful that I've got enough cash to pay the rent, but I'll try to drop some cash in later on.

I like Movember it gives people who've always wanted to grow facial hair an excuse to do so.

I'm terribly sorry, my charitable contributions are already handled by direct debit, so I won't be funding your cause.

Can you reduce your eyes by 20-30%?

My eyes are slightly larger than most peoples but i seem unable to take a photo of myself close up without going all googly. I'll try and take a better one tonight.

It's not really the size of your eyes, more the lack of lids.

Nice tache, go for a cock duster.

I've not shaved for two weeks. I'm starting to look like a tramp.

A tramp that can't grow a beard. Or a moustache.

I've not not-shaved because of Movember, I'm just a lazy fuck and work don't appear to care.

Possibly because anyone else in the office would look like this within a couple of days, not 14.

It's weird, because my head-hair grows awesomely, isn't receding and is only showing tentative signs of greyness.

Wow, this is a boring, poorly-formatted post. I think I'll stop editing onto the end of it now.

All the hair on your body and head apart from your scalp is pubic hair so your beard growth has nothing to do with how much your scalp hair grows and more to do with latent testosterone and genetics.

I also havent shaved for a week. I have two unfortunate 'bald' patches on my cheeks that will forever prevent me from having a fine full beard though. Sigh.

Oh.
Clear lack of testosterone suggests otherwise.

I have a stripe that runs straight down my throat from just under my chin that doesn't grow any hair at all.

It'd be an awesome beard if the rest of it worked properly.

You do get hairier as you get older, so I was told many many years ago. I can confirm this personally, but cannot speak for everyone. I've also heard that cod liver oil promotes body hair growth as well as allegedly being good for the joints :) My beard is going grey nowadays so I look like a bum if I let it grow for more than a week.
