Sadly, my electric razor ran out of battery so I now have a moustache. And look a bit like Drew Barrymore when she is in disguise as a business person in Charlie's Angels. Probably.

I ordered a switch from Amazon at quarter to seven last night. It arrived at quarter past seven this morning. I have difficulty getting my head around that.

I haven't shaved in almost 2 weeks. I have, what some might describe as 'a beard'. Someone who's never seen a real beard of course.

Do you live next door to the Amazon people? Did you use the 'time warp' delivery method (50p extra)? Did they use Royal Mail?

So Xboxes then. I had a go on my new 360 for a bit last night, but now I feel dirty, like I've been cheating on my PS3. She's been a good mistress to me, that PS3, but Polyphony Digital are taking too fucking long making my Vroom Vroom game, so I had to get Turn 10's Vroom Vroom game instead.

I've got the 'box set up to output 1080p. Where the PS3 switches resolution to whatever the game wants to output (720p for most games, 1080p for the odd game here and there like Wipeout HD, GT5 Prologue, The Last Guy, etc), everything is being output in 1080p on the 360. Presumably the 360 is upscaling everything. Is this a good thing? Should I be running the 360 in 1080p mode or would I be better dropping it down to 720p or something (I only had a 720p telly when I last owned 360)?

Yes it is. Yes it is. The 360's upscaler does a fine job.

Yes, I think GY is misreading the GUI. Once the game is on the HDD you can't play it from the disk at all, in fact.

Eric Bana and Rachel MacAdams. I loved the book and quite liked the film, it was a pretty good adaptation.

And why are switches so expensive? I just want a little 4 port thing to plug a 360, PS3 and HomePlug into, dammit, but even hubs are expensive.

Probably a switch in a box that says hub on it, yes, but still advertised as hubs.

Also: the one time I've ever wished marketing would make up some stupid new term was for "USB hub" and the bastards didn't.

I paid £2.50 for a USB hub that included a cable and a transformer (that even works). Why does an ethernet one cost 4x that? They're not even gigabit (not that I need it, but would make a tenner more palatable).

I dunno what peoples problem with Ebuyer is. I get alot of stuff off them for the business. They do what they say on the tin. They are cheap box shifters and are fairly efficient at it. The one time I had a problem it was dealt with very quickly and efficiently.

Ah, tru dat. Thankfully, I've now trained my elderly neighbour to stand by her front door and intercept deliveries for me. And the depot is only a 5 min drive from my house.

Absolutely appalling service, years ago.

CityLink left one of my Windowses with a neighbour. Normally I'd be outraged, except it meant I didn't have to drive to the depot to get it.

Grr.

A spreadsheet is run which opens two emails with attachments. One says it's an update for X, the other says it's an update for Y. Why then stupid marketing people do you send update for X to Y. Why?

Well, for your stupidity you will now have to handle a message box telling you where to send them every time you want to do an update. Ha.

Remember that sketch on Smack the Pony with the woman hanging on to the bloke's leg after he's finished with her?

That was 3 today when I told them I wanted to cancel because I wanted an iPhone. "Oh sir you do realise the iPhone is gash and will explode in your face when you try and forward a text message?"
