I got a whacking great letter off my solicitor this morning, containing my entire set of hospital records, with X-Rays. Want to see what the actual break in my elbow looked like pre-op? It's mental.

OUR WALL IS FINISHED. Now I get to clamber around the scaffolding going "ook!" while painting it. I am taking off next thursday and friday especially to do this. I can't wait! :)

Actually kalmar, maybe you could give me a hint as to how boring it will be, I'm doing the 17th edition. For the next three Fridays (although I have to miss next weeks cos Jen is passing out! Yus!
Oh also, Jen sat her big po-po exam yesterday and passed :) I'm all proud.

Lost at the bottom of a page, this post was.

Congrats to Jen! That's excellent, she's a real poh-lice!? Sheeeeet! Etc.

17th Edition - I refer to it but haven't done a course or taken an exam. There's a lot of stuff to remember and if you don't already have a grounding in it (ho ho), it could be pretty dry. Let me know how you get on though!

Bah, I knew it'd been discussed before now, but I didn't realise we had a guide.
I'm running 4.2 though and I'm following those instructions, not sure if I can downgrade from there?

Protip - Make sure the write-protect tab hasn't slipped on your SD card in order to save you a million headaches.

Fuck knows. Keep some notes as you go, though, as we can amend those instructions once you're done.

Depending on your current version the guide is a little out of date but the theory behind it is all still sound , you still need an exploit and a method to run it so you can install the homebrew channel and you can do pretty much everything else from that point on

I think we need to go back a lot further than that, and with the aid of a psychiatrist, to figure out what AlbinoKid's on about.

Ha. The local newspaper and/or the local police have fallen for a hoax warning

Quote:
Hang up on mobile phone scam

Last updated: 10/30/2009 10:12:00 AM

MOBILE phone users in Suffolk are being warned of a scam which enables fraudsters to use your SIM card to make calls at your expense.

Suffolk police said the offenders are calling people saying they are a company engineer. They say they are checking the phone line and ask you to press #90 or #09.

The fraudulent caller then uses a device that enables them to access your SIM details and make calls on you.

Police are urging anyone who receives a call like this to hang up immediately without following the caller's instructions.

For further information or to report an incident, call Suffolk police on 01473 613500.

I went to the Doctor this morning because I've needed to sign up with a new surgery and I was given a flu jab. Apparently I get the swines as well.

For stuff like that pavement electricity generator, I wonder if they ever create enough useful power to make up for the energy used creating and installing them in the first place.

The revolving door idea was a good one I thought.

Cute. Got to wonder whether it's as cost effective and reliable as solar, though.

@Squirt: the point of things like this is to offset the cost (and materials and labour etc) of the alternative grid connection that you would otherwise need.
Clearly the electricity generated will be very expensive compared to grid price, but that doesn't matter if you're only lighting a few LEDs.

I didn't like that one. If you've got a revolving door, you've got a building in a town, so you don't need expensive ways of generating tiny amounts of electricity. They also over-claimed on the amount it could generate by about 1000x.
