Apparently the Costa Rica thing's been blocked and people were subsequently having success with Slovakia but there are reports that's been blocked as well now.

I've played it too and it's not fantastic. It's a nice novelty, but once you've seen all the moves then it quickly wears off.

Hmmm - Amazon have just launched a beta to send codes for MS Points and Live membership (strange because points have just been discontinued)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/b?ie=UTF8&node=3058415031

Slightly cheaper than buying them directly on the xbox and the fact that its amazon themselves means you use vouchers and they can potentially discount stuff in the future.

The codes can be redeemed for quite a few months yet. I expect there's quite a few loitering around warehouses.

So, if I buy 800 points for £6.87... What will that convert to when I put the code in?

It looks like a point is 85p when converted so the 800 points you buy from amazon will credit you with £6.80 (so you lose 7p) - the 2100 points at £16.87 will convert to £17.85 (gain 98p) and the 4200 points at £33 will convert to £35.70 (gain £2.70)

(thats using this page from Eurogamer and my own points that were converted when things changed over http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013- ... -available )

Scene - A swanky high class reception with the well to do wandering around exchanging pleasantries when everyone turns and gasps as Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb walks in with a platter full of Xbox 360 Games your local Scope shop would turn down because nobody wants them. A badly dubbed lady expresses the sentiment - "Oh Microsoft, with this steaming pile of yesterday's games and unwanted shite you are really spoiling us"

R6 Vegas is a brilliant game. It is, admittedly eight years old or so.

Oh I know I really enjoyed it when I played it although I got bored 3/4 of the way throug because something shiny and new caught my eye. It just you'd be hard pushed to pay more than a £1 for it anywhere these days.

Compare that to the non stop Ferrero Rocher rain on PSN+ and it looks somewhat cheap.

Originally released Nov 21 2006 so its almost 7 years old

You can buy it on Amazon.co.uk for just under £2 (and it'll probably take about a third of that to get it posted to you) - my disk based copy is worth £1 if i trade it in to game.

The other 'free' game this month was last years version of an annual game which cost 800 moon bucks when it first came out and the main complaint in the reviews was that it was much better on Ios on the ipad where it cost 69p (and has since moved over to free)

Apparently, since I'm flicking through GamesTM, Flashback HD Remix ("Urgh" - Biggie) has the original game tucked away inside its rotten shitty dreadful blight on gaming remix ("An' another one" - Biggie).

Apparently, it's got a massive wraparound of an arcade cabinet (Fack knows why cause it never came out on the arcade) but I'll be damned if I can find a youtube clip of it.

Under your avatar there is a request scan button. If you don't get cheevos that often it stops scanning you as often, but you can do a limited number of manual requests per set amount of time.

I don't think I've played Halo 3. We have it, and my kids play it, and it might have loaded on my profile, but I don't think I've played it.

158,231 out of 212,505 TA users have played it, so it suggests you are in the minority.

Dont know why i bothered with the link though because even though its free you cant purchase on there unless you've setup a billing option so you should go get it from your 360

Instead of ending next month Microsoft will continue 'games with gold'

http://news.xbox.com/2013/10/xbox-360-games-with-gold

Quote:
Games with Gold: Now an Ongoing Benefit for Xbox Live Gold Members on Xbox 360

At E3 2013, we launched Games with Gold as a limited-time program to thank our Xbox Live Gold members. Within that short period of time, we’ve seen an overwhelming response, with more than 120 million hours played with Games with Gold titles. Today, as a part of the “Week of Xbox Live,” we’re excited to announce that we are making Games with Gold an ongoing benefit for Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox 360.

Whether they are blockbuster AAA or popular arcade titles, Games with Gold continues to offer a diverse mix of games with two free Xbox 360 titles a month – yours to keep and at no additional cost. According to recent surveys, 97 percent of participating members have given their stamp of approval for Games with Gold, and we’re excited to continue bringing you great games every month as part of our ongoing commitment to providing great value on Xbox 360.

Don’t forget to download “Halo 3,” called “nothing short of epic” by IGN.com and available Oct. 16-31. Stay tuned to Xbox Wire and Major Nelson’s blog for new Games with Gold titles announced each month.

Seems a bit of an empty gesture considering people will start migrating to the Xbone soon. PS+ is definitely the more compelling service as it seems a lot of stuff will be cross-compatible between PS3/4/V.

Mandatory 'update' to the terms and conditions today before you can sign in - you would think that someone .... anyone would actually view this like most customers would via an Xbox and maybe decide that fixing the weird non consistent caps and all the [] characters would be worthwhile right ?

The caps aren't inconsistent; it's legitimately capitalising "Agreement" because it's legalese. The [] stuff is pretty bad though, that's totally some bullet-pointed text that's been copy and pasted out of Word and doesn't render properly anywhere else.

I'd suggest "Scope of Agreement" was a defined term rather than "agreement".
