I'm quite tempted to pick one of these, but I was wondering if any of you had any opinions. ;)

In my experience, yes. Somewhere deep in this thread someone hated theirs though but I don't remember what it was.

I just had a flick through and it was AceAceBaby and his SM226BW (may not have the model number correct as I didn't copy and paste it like a sensible person). There's a thread about backlight bleeding on AV Forums, so I'll look into it a bit more and I might go and take a look at one in the flesh when I get a chance.

For reference mine are a SyncMaster 940BW, and a SyncMaster 2032MW.

Both have an amazing picture quality, and I don't regret buying either.

Bwah ha ha. Mysterious internets.

I didn't have a backlight problem with the Samsung, just the absolutely appalling colour banding.

I found Richer Sounds man to be nice, helpful, willing to do discounts and little deals and not pushy on sales at all.

You have a stick in you? So, a girl then. That's cleared that up.

AceAceBaby has a nice shade lilac shade of text, and that's all that matters to me.

Or is it fuschia?

Indigo, apparently. Though it looks a little more eggplant on this monitor.

Should have known I'd get it wrong. Sorry Ace (if I did get it wrong, I'm still not too sure and was your member title always that?)

Aw, thanks for the thought, anyway, GJ, but I wouldn't have had a video machine to play it on. I'll let you into a secret... I have brookeback Mountain on DVD. Yes, I do. But there I something about watching a movie on TV. I am less likely to watch it on TV because if it is on DVD I think, well, I am a bit tired, I can watch it anytime, and never do, but if it is on TV I think 'it's on, must watch it now or miss it' so I make the time. Brokeback Mountain can beak our heart, it is so lovely, I have never seen The Patriot, though.

I don't have a video recorder (or player). ;) I got me a DVD recorder with a HDD though, I would have just burnt it straight to disc. :)

I'd pay good money for Brooke Burke's Mountains on DVD.

Ahem. Of course, you don't know if they don't have a really good reason for changing their name and maybe they'd like it not mentioned again (see my edit above).

I agree... mainly for the shock value of CUS being funny.
