SCOEL recommended that an 8-hour time-weighted average occupational exposure limit, set at 0.05 mg.m-3, would not lead to any adverse health effects in workers, and would not be associated with any increased risk of cancer.

In November 2001 the Health and Safety Executive published a Chemical Hazard Alert Notice for sulphuric acid mist, which recommended that employers should control mist exposure to below 0.3 mg.m-3, in line with advice from the National Sulphuric Acid Association. The 8-hour time-weighted average occupational exposure standard (OES) for sulphuric acid, formerly set at 1 mg.m-3, was withdrawn by the Health and Safety Commission in May 2003. There is currently no British occupational exposure limit.

So, am I mis reading this? They say 0.05 is "okay", then recommend 0.03, but then withdraw 0.1 and leave no limit at all? :S

It's saying that the 0.05 was OK over an 8 hour period. The maximum exposure for any single short-term instance should be 0.3.

So if your room is full of 0.05 all day you're fine. If you get briefly misted with 0.3, you're fine. Sit in 0.3 all day and you're buggered.

Such as the running from the centre of CW to the Greenwich foot tunnel, having a fight on the way, in under two minutes, you mean?

You know the kind of thing, you find a nice parking space on a slipway, go off for a walk and then someone comes along wanting to shoot a nice scene of the river only to have his shot ruined by some pillocks car.

Yep, that was my shot ruined alright.

I thought it was CW>Island Gardens>Into Tunnel>Come out in Poplar>Call helicopter>walk to Regents park in 20 minutes.

Anyhow, not as good as the plane landing at City, going through immigration at stansted, then getting on the DLR.

Much like everything after the first hour of the first one, then?

I haven't seen the first one in ages, but the things which happen are just silly, make little sense at times, and generally left me thinking ?:| and :S .

I found it started well, but went drastically downhill and eventually was just silly and trying way too hard. The whole "OH LOOK JIM IS JUST LIKE THE INFECTED OMG HUMANS ARE MONSETRS" bit was about as subtle as a mortar, too. And the excellently merciless survivor woman turned into a useless screaming pansy for no reason. And the soldiers who went suicidally/rapily insane without sex for four weeks... what the hell did they do when they were at boot camp, or, y'know, war? And I really didn't care whether anyone survived after they got to manchester. They were all bland and kind of annoying (and the kid's voice was just plain weird. What was she, a welsh canadian?).

Some decent imagery in there, mind. From a technical standpoint, it's a generally well-shot film. Although the HORROR-VISION camera mode was a bit contrived.

You ought to patent a tobogganing butt plug applicator.

In 28 days later you get to see a motorway sign that has Fleetwood on it.

@ Craster, I don't think that is the case, the IDLH* is 80mg/m3 so, I don't get what they have done there.
*IDLH = Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health, and that means you have 15 minutes to clear the fucking area.

@ Riles, I like how the kid goes from being grubby, to clean, to grubby to clean. I also like the way this Usarian woman knows the back alleys of London while being chased by some (rather pointless) helicopter. And seriously, why was that helicopter shooting at them?

Tobogganing like a dog does. The butt plug would have a chamois leather attached to the handle, and you'd have to toboggan over the car to apply the wax.

I was working withthe plumber and the sinks were blocked so he poured two bottles of 'one shot' down the plugs and another bottle in the urinal (mens toilets smell of pee). 'one shot' is about 96% sulphuric acid I think?
We then left because it smells terrible and went back after 10 minutes at which point we were going to run the taps again but because of a stupid water saving device the urinal only rinses itself every so often as long as the sensor detects motion, so we had to stay there until it rinsed so we could see that it was flowing ok. This ended up taking longer than expected and were there for AGES. Gadz.

Moving this idea forward you could have a bollock sized dipping pot for the wax.

Slide the loaded sack in large circular motions to apply wax, with the buttplug wax off finish.

Job done in half the time.

It's generally Sodium hydroxide, rather then H2s04

That's because you're wrong. 28 Weeks Later is as good as the original for me; perhaps even better.

No it isn't. Transformers 2 is shit, 28 Weeks Later is ok, it could have been better but at least it has its moments.

They're both shit. But both have a very pretty woman in them. But only 28 Weeks Later, like pinnacle of shit 300, besmirches a Wire actor's CV.

To be fair, usually when they're at war or at boot camp, they aren't there under the distinct impression that the entire of the human race has become zombie-like rage merchants, and that they are quite possibly the only survivors left uninfected.

Y'know, I'm so hugely unobservant that it took me a month to remember that the coiled up brown thing on the windowsill that had sat there since I'd moved in in July was actually a TV aerial cable and that I could in fact just plug it into my monitor, and not have to go and buy an indoor aerial next month next payday. Phew, that was close.

Well worth tidying my room and putting up that bookcase then, as I would have blithely ignored it for even longer, the aerial looking for all the world like a coiled brown snake amongst my colourful windowsill flower-pots.

I hadn't actually thought of that! (Mental note, check descriptions before submitting future novel)
