So Baby Driver is fucking amazing then. Funny, cool, touching, violent and fast but blended together so all of it works.
So glad I avoided the trailers though - having watched it now the first one gives away about 60% of the plot.

Has anyone ever heard of American Psycho? Of course you have. It's an elegantly crafted movie that blurs the line between truth and insanity. Is he really a killer, or is he just a mental? Great stuff. Love it.

Watched Baby Driver at the cinema last night.

Afterwards, Mrs Fop and I were picking up a sandwich from 24-hour tesco. I was parked out front in the taxi zone, engine running, music* blasting.

She opens the door, jumps in and hands me my sandwich and says "Let's go, baby."

I flip on the lights and peel away. And for a moment, through a mouthful of sausage and chicken sandwich, I AM Baby Driver.

*Erm, it was Erasure.

There was some swooshy stuff at the start in amongst all the trailers that was a sort of YOU ARE LISTENING IN DOLBY advertisement and I really liked that.

When was the last time you went to the cinema, man? the 80s?

I think I saw War Of The Worlds with Tom Cruise in it when I was down Milton Keynes on a training course, so whenever that came out.

Is this one more accurate and controllable?

It's handy the film has its own thread, like all films do here, so that when someone watches a film ages after everyone else, such as when it appears on a streaming service, there's a coherence and continuity to the conversation.

Saw Despicable Me 3 at the weekend.

It was a fine visual spectacle but the whole thing was like watching Gigglebiz on Cbeebies only with added 80's references as a hat tip to the parents, rather than gags that actually work on too levels.

It goes something like this; Fart Gag, Eighties Reference, Fart Gag, Eighties Reference and it's all stitched together in a really disjointed manner so it doesn't feel like a film, more a series of unconnected sketches.

Not something I will be watching again when it's out on home formats.

With the death of Rosemary Murphy (Maudie Atkinson) on Saturday, July 5th, 2014, Robert Duvall (Boo Radley) is (or was) the film's last surviving adult cast member.

Same as the Minions. That very much felt like a minion sketch show stitched together in the loosest possible way.

I think we might have dodged the bullet on D3s M3, as mini fops interest in the little yellow bollocks appears to have waned. She's all about Sing, which I've managed to avoid myself.

Sing is inoffensive but really, really predictable.

Also most of the most interesting characters don't make it through the auditions.
