I do a really bad impression of Tom Hardy doing a not entirely convincing Welsh accent.

Why did they make him Welsh anyway? He could have just been from wherever Tom Hardy is from, and it would have saved him from trying to do the accent.

Saw Assassins Creed last night. A great pop corn film, very similar idea (not quite the same) to the games.

Basically a lot of runny, jumpy slashy bits. Both now and the the aniumus.

I quite enjoyed it.

Watched Bridge of Spies over the weekend. It's everything you would expect from the people involved really - entertaining, suspenseful and really well acted with a superb script and atmospheric visuals.

"Would it help?" should be the answer to so many things only I can't say it like Mark Rylance does.

Watch Tower Block the other night, staring the lovely Sheridan Smith and some other people you remember from Doctors or ITV crime dramas. It's a good concept, and gets pretty brutal and tense. However, a lot of the characters seemed fairly chill about the hell being unleashed around them, which gets in the way of the scariness a bit.

Overall 1/3 of a star for sideboob.

Expectations Management: About 1.5 secs of side boob in total. However, she is pretty cool in it over all - a pleasingly assertive, taking-the-lead protagonist.

Problem is that he's a clone of Patrick Stewart, and he would sound too much like Patrick Stewart if he didn't put a voice on.

Unfortunately I fell asleep because I was a little bit tipsy sooo will have to finish watching it later.

Plane movies!

Star Trek Beyond: certainly much less bad than Into Darkness. Karl Urban very watchable as ever. Pine and Quinto felt like they didn't quite have much to do though? 3/5

Suicide Squad: not as bad as I feared! It has the usual plot inconsistencies and stop-start pacing of a modern blockbuster that was written in the editing suite, but I enjoyed some of the key performances -- Smith, Robbie, and (surprisingly) Jay Hernandez as Diablo. Most of the rest of the characters were forgettable, however, and Leto's Joker was terrible. Just, really bad. 2/5.

Presumably you're watching a much edited down version as well? Do they still do that?

A Monster Calls was a non-stop cryfest. Enjoyed it though.

Robbie as Quinn is beautiful. I love that look.

Shame Holly Willoughby never dressed up like that OH NO WAIT

Oh god. I'm still putting off going to see it because I will end up a complete mess and I'm worried it may actually break me.

Watched Rogue One last night.

Was all right. Let down by an absolute charisma vacuum for the two leads.

Vader's scenes were good. I liked the way he lumbered around waving a light saber like a big old dude with a battle axe.

But more pleasing was seeing the Logan trailer - a film I literally couldn't have cared less about. But which is now a film I'm going to have to persuade Mrs Fop to see - having both entered a self-imposed superhero moratorium. It looks interesting, unexpected and makes good, though hyperbolic, use of Johnny Cash.

I really like what they tried to do with the movie - I particularly like the way they completely ignore the cataclysmic event happening under their noses and have their mission be something completely different (only to go and ruin it at the end by focusing on it)

But yeah, the plot inconsistencies were terrible, the pacing was all over the shop, and some of the acting was atrocious (Cara Delevingne in particular, although Joel Kinnaman doesn't seem to be able to stop playing Robocop either)

Watched Zootropolis last night. It's great, with a very good script, lots of clever sight gags and a decent story. Last year was a great year for animation and this along with Jungle Book are probably two of the better movies I've seen from 2016. Still need to see Finding Dory and Moana yet.

Also rewatched The Nice Guys which I enjoyed more the second time around. Still not as good as KKBB obviously

The Missus loved Moana, and has been singing the songs ever since watching it.

Zootroplois is lovely. Loved the commune and the sloths.

On one hand I think everyone should see it. It's incredibly touching and Lewis MacDougall (Connor) does a fantastic job of portraying some of the anger, frustration, fear etc that you can imagine a kid with a sick mum would feel...

On the other hand - and this might just be because I was having a 'down' day yesterday - it's fucked with my fragile head and I am feeling pretty meh

It's one of my all time favourite books, though this is influenced a lot by the story itself (I was older than the boy in the story, but still a teenager), and the climactic moment in the book did genuinely change how I felt (now) about how I felt (then).

Depends on the film. According to the intro bit, Suicide Squad was unedited, and Star Trek was "reformatted to fit this screen." But no cuts.

Obviously this isn't the way to watch any film you actually care about!

Zootropolis was really, really good. Surprisingly so.

Leap of Faith is still good.

Steve Martin was excellent when he was at the top of his game.

Went to the cinema to see A Monster Calls, which made me cry through most of the movie. Brilliantly done though, and the artwork is sensational.

"Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates" - basically daft, but if you like the stars' general schtick you'll like it as that's effectively all it is. Milton from Office Space plays the Dad. Adam Devine gets punched quite a lot. Zac Efron wears a t-shirt with the word "BANANAS" written on it in big letters. General slapstick hilarity ensues.

Rating: 1 Star, plus a bonus Silver Moon for Aubrey Plaza's butt.

I watched it on saturday and thought it was an enjoyable enough romp, but christ she was awful. Although I hadn't even realised it was her.

Flicking around on Prime we found Hardcore Henry. It sounded suitably stupid for a Friday night, and we weren't disappointed. All shot with Go Pro's. I'd have avoided it if I'd known that, so glad I wasn't aware until it started.

I've watched that Harry Potter film, Fantastic Creatures and blah blah blah.

It's tremendous!

...ly boring. It's just a series of rubbish CGI animals and "wizardry" effects. Then the big villain is just a squirllling mess of CGI smoke in typical big budget, no content fashion. There's no story, no interest and no point.

Still, it's got Kevin from Corrie in it.

A must see for Kevin fans.
