Last I heard it was strongly rumoured but not confirmed to be by Treyarch, who did CoD3 and CoD:Big Red One. As opposed to Infinity Ward who did CoD1, 2, and 4. Treyarch's games are generally not as well regarded as IW's, although I can't comment personally as I've not played any others.

Not played Big Red One, but CoD3 was proper scraping of the barrel stuff. I'm playing CoD2 again and it's just confirming for me that it was a far better game. In singleplayer at least, I understand Mr. Perkies rather likes it in multiplayer (or that's where all the achievements are, at least).

I would LOVE if still somehow, CoD4 multiplayer-but-in-WWII can be achieved. Bezzie Band Of Brothers Boxset!

So I started playing this again last night for an hour or so thanks to paint balling last weekend. And I really rather enjoyed it. Something clicked maybe.

I spent most of time throwing C4 (? I think, the ones you throw and then blow up later when you press the trigger) on one of the deserty levels. I would go and get flag A. Then throw a bunch of C4 on the floor, run around the corner and hide. Then the moment the flag icon switched color blow 'em up, wander back round and reclaim the flag.

I took 4 people out in one go! Ho ho.

You all have the map pack and I don't want to buy it, so I can't without stopping you all play that, so it wouldn't really work.

I've never really played an online shooter before so I've no idea how it all works.

Meh, there are plenty of maps to play with even without the map pack. I'm sure we'd all be happy to play with you on the *gasp* old maps.

The old maps? Surely not?!?

There's only four maps in the new pack - I wouldn't worry about 'spoiling our fun'.

Unless you fancy playing with us, like.

I think we should have some lovely games of Infinity Ward's acclaimed first-person-shooter Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, using the original maps so that the likes of Mr Lave can join.

However if Dimrill is to be host, then fuck that shit.

I would be up for that. Especially if it's a week day and from (or still playing at) 10:40.

Also can two people play on the same console on line? Mario Kart style?

Thats a terrible shame, two players sitting together on a couch versus the internet is officially the best way to play online.

Yeah, whats all the Dimrill hate about, I take it your very good then.

I generally shoot about a million bullets into them until they shoot me once and I die. It's a good strategy.

I'm sure he did better than I would have done. But oh well I thought it was Dimrill who would be killing me whilst I ran around looking at the ceiling then the floor and so on.

Dimmers usually can't see the screen after the first ten minutes. And after twenty minutes would need to be wearing marigolds to touch his controller.

If Dimrill's around, you can expect to be forced to stare up at the ceiling or floor, yes, but not due to him shooting at you in computer games.

I've said too much.

It was a superb session tonight, congrats to all involved except BLOODY RAMSEA who is much better than me. As for the timeless quote Dimrill has related a few posts up, well, I'm sure it will outlast this forum and be carved onto stone pyramids for our descendents to puzzle over. "Who was this Dimrill, and why did he spunk so?" they will ask themselves.
