I'm doing this on Saturday, apparently, and need tips and how tos so I can be the bestest and maybe even run a solicitor over, as I fucking hate coming second.

Dress code would also be helpful, but I got told "Don't be drunk" yesterday.

It's rubbish.
Remember to lean the wrong way when cornering though, or you won't.

DISAGREE
Lean hard and oversteer is the way the big boys do it. Quads are more stable than they feel, so don't be scared of booting it. Also they have soft shocks, so balance them out before going into the corners. Use banks as hard as you can, and hook wheels onto any ruts on the inside of corners too.

I've done a day of MotoX so hooking up with ruts is cool.

Lean INTO turn, and kick the back out then, as in unweight the rear wheels?

It's not rubbish at all. It's acebest, and I want to go again when my gawdamn fucking arm can handle anything.

I can't give any tips, because it's been years since I last had a ride on one. But dress in things you can hose down, if possible, or at the very least something you don't mind getting absolutely filthy.

Top tip - Give us all your passwords in case you come a cropper. Particularly any banking ones so we can, er, let the banks know.

As quads have a solid rear axle, you have to unweight one of the wheels to keep your speed up. Oversteer is preferable to understeer, IMHO.

To be fair, I should've probably put a 'biking death trap'. :)

Are they 4wd, or Rwd?

Either way, I'm sure I'll be awesome.

If its your first time, I seriously doubt you will be allowed to go fast. I think it'll be a boring cross country affair...but if not, flog it and get very muddy!

RWD normally, but 4WD ones exist - they're normally farm ones though.

First (and as yet only) time we went quad biking on a stag do they had us ride around a dirt circle twice before letting us out on the full course which had a number of jumps and a long long straight. Hurtling close to trees and concrete posts used to mark the edge of the track was..... interesting. As was going over (what felt like*) a large jump three abreast. I'm amazed no one got too badly hurt.

Also, if you are used to off road moto/biking - whatever you do avoid the temptation to put a foot down.

*all four wheels were off the ground pretty easily. It was very exciting.

I went quad biking in the southern Mexican jungle. It was excellent. 4wd, manual gears and steep dry hills through leafy jungle make for a good few hours. Also, getting lost on the way back and ending up on the main jungle road doing 60kph was a right laugh.

Mexican: "Here ees your safety briefing. Go fast, don't crash. You die, we leave you"

The only problem was the dust and the mozzies. Pro Tip: When quad biking in the Mexican jungle, wear long socks and sunglasses.

I LOVE quad biking! Last time I went I was down in Cornwall, and I can't express to you how much it had rained and how muddy it was. Pro tip - if you have summer waterproofs where 'em! Enjoy! :)

I enjoyed the Quad Biking quite a lot. We went of trek f about an hour, over some paths and up and down something which was like, but not quite a motox track. I found it tricky at first, as I was trying to ride it like a motorbike, but after a while I got the hang of it. No one was injured. Apart from me, who managed to fall down half a flight of stairs, twisting my knee and it hurt lots.
