Please tell me I'm not the only one here who knows and likes this show? Such a shame it's been driven underground due to ridiculous licensing laws nowadays. Well if you're not very knowledgeable on it there's always Youtube and Google Video to examine for clips and full eps a plenty. I recently made friends with someone who's also heard of the show, which I didn't think was possible somehow! And apparently there's an MST3K All-Nighter happening at Piccadilly in early May. Might check that one out. Any favourite highlights to declare? |

I love MST3K. Puma Man was one of my favourites (Swizpig's old avatar, I believe) and I have a soft spot for Prince of Space. And Manos: Hands of Fate, of course. Incidentally, it's still going in two forms - the very similar Cinematic Titanic, and Rifftrax provides, well, riff tracks for more modern films. |

I vaguely know what it is. (B-Movies shown with an audience of 3 commenting on how crap the movie is?) I've never really watched it properly. I guess the joke is in the commentary? |

My parents and I split our sides watching the MST3k version of 'Mitchell'... I doubt we've ever laughed so hard at anything, ever. |

You might also want to check out the four DVDs released last year by The Film Crew, as well as Legend Films' horror/cult classics range, which include colourised versions (boo!) and the RiffTrax as commentary tracks (yay!). Runcle: The Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie you saw would be, um, Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie. The official DVD was deleted years ago but it shouldn't be too hard to find a version to download (either an image of the official DVD or one of the fanmade special editions). If you want to be legit about it then I think it's being re-released next month. |

I love this show! I have the first DVD box-set and a couple of episodes I taped when Sci-Fi showed it. The film was on ITV and Sky Movies. Was it ever released on DVD in this country? I think it was put out on rental VHS, strangely. |

MST3K is indeed ace. I used to watch it on the Scifi channel about (blimey) 10 years ago. I've got quite a few on video from back then, and I've been torrenting season 6 and 7 recently, none of which I've really seen yet. Oh, I'm a Mike guy, obviously. Favorite episode? Possibly "Terror from the Year 5000". Although Puma-Man is good too. Puma-dork more like. |

I thought I typed in a post here last night but it could have been on WOSF or neither. I said that I found the presenter guy a bit irritating so I haven't been able to bring myself to watch any MST3K. I do have a film that was featured on there though. 'Los Nuevos Extra Terrestros' or 'Extra Terrestrial Visitors' featured on MST3K as 'Pod People'. |

I'm a huge fan of old '50s sci-fi movies, so I predict I shall really like this. Interestingly its mentioned in Joe Dante & Forest J Ackerman's commentary for the original War of the Worlds movie. Forest doesn't seem to like its rather cruel style, probably because he was friends with a fair few of the creators at the time. As any ex-WoSser will know though, I am huge-o fan of Joe Dante too. And loved his parodies in Eerie Indianna and Explorers, so yes, I shall like this. I shall check this Mystery Science thingy out tonight. |

I tried to watch the MST3K version of Manos: The Hands Of Fate once, but I had to give up after about 10 minutes because the "hilarious" commentary was doing my head in. In the end I bought a cheap DVD of the original Manos from ebay and I thouroughly enjoyed it. These old films are excellent in their own right. Having a bunch of annoying idiots make unfunny jokes all the way through ruins them. Just get hold of the original films and watch them instead. Provide your own commentary, it will be much funnier. |

Ha ha! They are excellent though, in a certain kind of way. These rubbish old B movies don't have things like a plot, a budget, or any acting talent, but they do have entertainment value by the bucketload. I guess what I mean is that the MST3K commentaries are not as funny as the films are by themselves, so it all seems a bit pointless. |

I played Off-World Interceptor Extreme before ever seeing this, so my first reaction when seeing it was "Oh my god, it's the cut scenes from that crap game, but done properly and therefore hilariously". I still quote the hobgoblins episode even now. |
