I'm off work today, and strongly considering raiding the corner shop for Nutella, bread, and crisps, you gits/darlings. I shall have to make a Lemon n' Scampi sandwich.

Put all that into a crepe, then the crepe into a sandwich, with more nutella and crisps. Layer to the size if your mouth.

I just had my first Starbar! I think I've been getting them mixed up with Picnic bars all along, it was nothing like what I was expecting. I fully expect them to be discontinued within days now that I've got a taste for them.

15 minutes in a pot of cheese. Leave to cool for 5 minutes, blender to a fine texture, then inject straight into the brain.

Your feet smell of fish?! What is it with this forum and strangely smelling bodyparts? Whatever next, someone with an elbow that smells of cashew nuts?

I had a starbar today. It were foul, it were. I immediately "rinsed" my mouth out with a Boost bar then downed another Boost bar to put it back into "the positive".

It's quite strange that two things that are so similiar can be so different.

I tried one today as well, but I prefer plain Boost bars (and Double Deckers are my favorite).

I don't like Starbars because the peanuts are in the wrong place. (in the bar)

I would prefer a Wispa, followed by a pack of KP's salted peanuts.

Ooh! And since I'm on a "do they still make this" kick, and since I'm coming back to Scotland on holiday next month, do they still make salt & vinegar dry roasted peanuts? I loved loved LOVED them, but could find them maybe once or twice a year if I was lucky.

Hmm, maybe I need to make a "snacks to buy on holiday" list or something.

Sainsburys used to sell 4 Boost bars in a multipack for 99p. I used to eat them all in one go, possibly followed up by a few more choccie bars and a ton of sugar.

Crig got Star bar today - he liked it very much. I had a Double decker as they are my faves :) I do not ever remember the having raisins in, though - I don't think I'd like them if they had raisins in.

There was a thread about choccy over on WoS and I mentioned about DD's having raisins, mainly because I distinctly remember a TV advert where the jingle went "Chocolate, nougat, crunchy flakes and raisins / it's a fascinating combination". I think it was Grim... who backed me up, and if you do a Google search you'll find enough info to suggest that Cadbury took them out in 1986.

I felt they added just that little extra something to the bar, and everytime I eat one now (which isn't very often as they rarely make their way over here) I feel something's missing.

I have never tried a Starbar..don't think I've ever even seen one. I shall look next time I nip to the shops.

And I have to say.... Double Deckers! I've not had one in ages and now, Grim, you've made me want one. They own.

Today was a very distressing day. I was buying my lunch and picked up a starbar, at which point I had 30 seconds of pure mental conflict, weighing the awesomeness of the starbar against my desire to not undo my good work at the gym last night.

Eventually a voice in my head started screaming 'PUT THE STARBAR BACK. PUT THE STARBAR BACK. PUT THE STARBAR BACK.'.

So I did. I've eaten all my lunch already. I'm hungry. I wish I had a star bar :(

I never see Double Deckers anymore, I used to love them. Boosts are my new love in the sweetie world, although I had an old fashioned rhubard and custard long stick-like sweet today :D

I'll try Star Bars I think as everyone keeps on about them

Go to the gym twice, then reward yourself (with a starbar, jeez).

I am sure starbars used to be nicer, when I was kid, they were less *makes noise of some one with putty stuck to the roof of their mouth* and more powdery. And a bit sharper (taste, not shape). They are still teh awesomes (read "nice") though.

From Wiki

"Double Decker bars originally had raisins embedded within the base layer but they were removed in 1986 in response to market research."

To avoid any further confuseion.

They should put the raisins back in, that sounds ace. I was 4 in 1986, so it's unlikely I ever had an original Double Decker :(

Scampi are breadcrumbed Langoustine tails.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Langoustine

Langoustines vaguely resemble a large King Prawn, but are actually a closer relation of the Lobster, growing up to 250g.

They are usually pinky-red in colour although they can also be quite pale.

Found in the north-eastern Atlantic Ocean and North Sea as far north as Iceland and northern Norway, and south to Portugal.

They are solitary predators, feeding on other animals such as worms and fish.

The bulk of the catch is taken by trawlers, which catch the animals during periods of emergence from their burrows in the seabed.

They are great roasted in the oven and served whole with lemon and mayonnaise or split in half, coated in butter and herbs and grilled.

The tail meat is muscular and has a sweet taste and a prawn-like texture it is frequently eaten, often under the name "Scampi".

Shocking how the price of chocolate bars has gone up - 55p! I'm sure it was more like 30p in 1999 ish.

Curly Wurly's are the best sweets to have if you are trying to lose weight. The trick is to freeze them as it makes them harder to eat.

Surely you jest!!!!

I used to stack em up so the people in the shop didn't know how many I was buying, and I got charged for 2 or 3, but I really had more like 5 or 6.

Oh they were nice! I could just eat and eat and eat those.

I think it's the texture I hated with Caramac, mind you-that was a few years ago, I may like them now. I fancy a Dime bar! I LOVE those :droool: gone off Bueno's as they make me feel sick

MaliA-you sure it's not because there are holes in the chocolate bar? So less chocolate consumed? :D

:D I'd forgotten about that! I love the old adverts. I watch adverts more than the tv, which is sad but I love the Cravendale milk adverts (MILK, MILK!) and the Crusha Milkshake one with the cats on it ^.^

And the 'Moose loose aboot the house' one. Was that rowtree's fruit gums or something? I forget. Set the juice loose!

I champion Lave, not because I agree with him but because he has the nerve to come out and say 'Meh' to the mighty Starbar on a forum of Starbar enthusiasts.

It reminds me of the day that I said I had seen an episode of The Mighty Boosh and I liked it.

Go Lave!
