Israel has undoubtedly treated the Palestinians badly, but Hamas’s attacks yesterday were horrific, and will inevitably bring very strong retaliation causing even more loss of life on both sides.

It’s difficult to see what either side will achieve from this latest escalation, other than the certainty that they are in the right and the others deserve everything they get.

Israel has done terrible things to Palestine for decades (and vice versa, but much more resource limited).

Now they're saying they're at war, which seems like a dangerous escalation of words.

It's a broad brush but increasing average global temperature seems to be making it more obvious - humans are, at a large scale, terrible.
