To be fair, I found them to taste ok. It's the...texture? Mouthfeel?

It's very sweet because of all the sugar needed to make it that alcoholic.

Barley wine is big again now. Loads of craft brewers are making it.

I'm fairly certain that I have a clone receipe for special brew. I shall check soon.

I got wrecked on Dogbolter once. I swear the hangover lasted 4 days. Mind you, that was like drinking beer-flavoured, alcoholic, cold gravy.

Dogbolter! Happy memories of watching norwegian feeds of premier league football in a pub in Broomhill with Radio 5 commentary! Oh, 1998 was a good year.

Going back to Bluetooth: there's no single kind of "bluetooth audio streaming" so blanket statements about it being good or bad aren't very useful. There are multiple subtypes of streaming format that vary by device, with any two in a pair negotiating the type of stream depending on their capabilities. Notably, these have improved significantly in terms of sound quality in recent years (and they were pretty crummy in the past.) For example, if you have aptX support with an Apple device, the phone will stream the AAC music file directly to the Bluetooth endpoint -- there is no recompresson. My Bose QC35s sound great on Bluetooth, and I'm fairly picky about this stuff (I once accidentally blind tested on myself the difference between LAME mp3 and FLAC. And I could tell the difference.)

HEARTHLY'S TOP TIP:

Chopley's Awesome Playlist works tremendously well with Burnout Paradise Remastered. (CAP is now at 362 unique artist tracks, and expands regularly.)

Paradise's soundtrack isn't bad, but it's no Revenge, that's for sure. And TBH it gets tired long before the game does.

So stick CAP on play from your device of choice (I use my PC and its nice 2:1 speaker setup, which is in the same room), and then enjoy BPR with full 5:1 DTS sound (minus music) through your XB1's speaker setup, and get fantastic positional audio on all the crashy smashy racey effects.

This is DJ Hearthotomica, signing out.

Just in case you didn't know. PlayStation plus subscribers get 10 percent of Spotify.

Which 10%? Or can I choose which 10% I want?

I doubt I’d listen to 10% in my lifetime to be fair so it sounds like a good deal.

It is shared between all ps plus subscribers and there is a lot of them, so you don't get too much.

I am still slowly adding to my playlist over time, which is now up to 403 tracks. (Remember, the only rule for the list is each artist can only appear once, so that's 403 tracks by 403 different artists.)

500 tracks by 500 unique artists.

There is the occasional hiccup where Spotify appear to lose the rights to something, and I then have to replace the greyed out track on the list with something else by that artist, but overall, it all works fine.

Ah man, that reminds me, I wanted to listen to the Dawnson’s Creek soundtrack volume 1 (I mean, who wouldn’t) on Apple’s music thing and they didn’t have THE FUCKING THEME SONG. And equally worse was they didn’t have FUCKING KISS ME ON THERE EITHER. Both were greyed out presumably because someone lost the licenses but I mean, come on, those are the only two fucking songs that are even associated with the (glorious and absolute classic and legendary) TV programme! Fucking first world problems hashtag.

I think it's impossible to separate two such magnificent musical creations, and we'll have to place them together in a category of peerless brilliance.

This is my general Spotify playlist when I want to listen to a mixture of stuff without anything too heavy - Link. Mixture of cheesy stuff and classic rock mainly.

Spotify is now consistently serving up fantastic selections of new music for me on my 'Discover Weekly' list. Earlier on it was playing it safe and often showing me stuff I already knew about, but as the SCARY ALGORITHMS have got better and learned more about me, I'm often finding it presenting a list of artists I've never heard of before (or was vaguely aware of but had forgotten about).

When the presented track catches my ear, I'll jump off to the 'Top Ten' list for the artist in question, listen through it, and pick a track off that to add to CHOPLEY'S AWESOME PLAYLIST. (Currently at 545 tracks by 545 unique artists, fact fans!)

I now quite look forward to each Monday when I get a new Discover Weekly to listen through.

Splendid stuff. Would Spotify again.
