I stuck the rest of my London pics on Flickr last night, but it resized the panoramas & made them look shit. So here they are in their lovely decent sizedness.

View from the Royal Observatory
View from an bridge at dusk looking West.
View from an bridge at dusk looking East.

You've perfectly reproduced at least three of the paintings in the Spread Eagle!

They don't, indeed. In fact, it can't be cultivated at all - to the point where if the locals find a flower, they immediately set up a tourist spot on the site which lasts the few days the flower stays open. We trekked for 20 minutes into the jungle to see that one, bloody inconsiderate bugger.

Does that mean there's lots of ice cream vendors & beggars hanging around it?

Heh. The first three in particular are actually good photos, though. the crocodile one is an ace capture of action. Bloody sharp, too.

Yeah, a couple. They're nervous buggers though, and vanish into holes in trees very quickly.

I'll repost this pic though, because it was stunning

That's just about actual size.

Those are some charming pics there, Craster. And the spider one is blimmin' great - Lord knows how hard it is to take a pic of those blighters!

Anyway, been pootling around trying to see where offers the best value on photo prints, and I reckon that Boots have got it taped. Reviews say the quality's excellent, and the prices seem very, very reasonable. What's more, if you register at their photo site you get 40 free print credits that can be spent on standard prints! So that's 40 free pics, methinks. It's pretty painless to join too.

Print Prices:

12x5 = 0.99
A4 = £2.49
12x8 £1.05
12x10 = £2.99
15x10 = £2.99

8x8 = £1.05
9x6 = 0.30
8x6 = 0.30

Posters Prices:

12x12
14x11
20x8 = £4.99

A3
16x12
18x12 = £5.99

A2
12x16 = £9.99

30x20 = £16.99

Frames are a bit pricy, mind.

The uploading service seems neat, linking to Picasa and Flickr, and it all seems very professional. Don't want to sound like a shady corporate promoter, but thus far I'm impressed. I shall see if the proof is in the pudding soon. Here's the link, but if I get to refer you then I get more credits, so let me leach off you if you plan to join by PM'ing me.

I found a place a while back that did those A4 clip frames for something like 17p each. I'll see if I can find it again.

I took a load of pics in Dorset when I was down there last weekend and the weekend before last. I like the depth in this and I have a particular thing for being in the woods and the light playing through the trees.

Fungus is awesome. Unless it's in your ear, throat, between your toes, or on your bellend. Substitute lady parts for bellend if you're a lady.

Thanks Nervy P and Russ! I have some more pictures from my two trips to Virginia Water here if you are bored. The older set are only taken with a camera phone a it was all I had with me at the time, but someone took me there yesterday having seen some fly agaric, and knowing I like looking at mushrooms and toadstools, etc, and it was 8pm when we got to that part of the walk last week, so far too dark to see them (though we saw loads of bats). The ones I took yesterday aren't taken with my proper camera, as it was too heavy and my hands would have been too cold as I can't hold it with gloves on :p

I ordered a load of photos from the Boots website at 15"x12". Turns out that's not a standard size for frames. Damnit.

Your a handy person to have around the day after a problem, I can tell.

In the same vein, I have this advice - when chopping chillis, don't also chop the end of your thumb off.

::chop:: ::chop:: ::chop:: ow, my thumb... OW, MY THUMB!

Ah! I thought I recognised some of those photos, I used to love going there when I was a kid.

Cor, I was sure that was going to turn out to be in New England or something. Mind you, it might as well be; exactly the wrong side of the M25 for it to be a sane day-trip for us...

I took these through the window of the balcony and the window in the kitchen. They are two collared doves that have visited every day for a year or so now.

Ooh, that's lush Meems!

At first I thought that I'd up the shadow and saturation just a fraction, but the more I look at it, the more I like the pale, washed, dream-like look. The blurred gentle non-distracting white misty background really makes a nice backdrop. Beautiful birds, yet they remind me of Statler and Waldorf somehow.
