Interesting, I thought I'd heard all the audio versions of this but I've never heard the original version of this, really liking the additional music and sound effects. Cheers for this.

He he...while shuffling about my local games store spraying frebreeze over the more stinky denizens I picked up my very own 'Bag of Cthulhu'...smashing.

Image

There are actually 6 of the 50 mil pieces in the bag rather than the four in the piccie.

Imagine. A Cthulhu in every room...that's living the dream (possible nightmare) my friends.

Also: Post those pics you promised of the sculpts your friend made!

Also also: Thanks for the 'The Trail of Cthulhu - August Derleth' book Dimrill. Really enjoying it so far.

Just finished 'The Trail of Cthulhu' - August Derleth that the fabulous Dimrill gave to me.

Really enjoyed it ta very much, not as good as the main mans stuff, but still great.

Should I pass it on Dimmers, or do you want it back?

Can you buy some more books twice then please as I appear to have them all now.

I actually do have three of your, once, doubles.

I'm going to get stuck back into my Necronomicon for now.

I must say the more I read through the Necronomicon the more it makes August Derleth's Trail of Cthulhu seem like an average fan-fic, and I really enjoyed it at the time. Still loads left to get through but what I've read so far has been superb.

Hmm. Well considering the Elder Gods pantheon was Lovecraft working with a whole slew of different authors who added their own Gods and so forth to it, BLAH! Derleth worked with Lovecraft on quite a few things before old LC carked it.

Yes, reading that back I didn't mean to sound so harsh on Derleth, just wanted to big up Lovecraft really,

Who else would you recommend from the other collaborators, Dimrill?

Interesting (and very long) New Yorker article on Del Toro:

http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2011 ... ntPage=all

Interesting titbits on his original vision for The Hobbit and what he's up to with regards to 'The Mountains of Madness'.

Jumped back into the Necronomicon last night and thoroughly enjoyed reading 'The Colour Out of Space'. One of the best stories of his so far, still over half of the book to go! Excellent value.

Not the same as reading it in a huge tome that hits you in the face when you're reading it led down though.

The PDF looks gash the way it's all set in a sans-serif font. :nerd:

Can you change the font on Kindles etc?

Usually, yes, although it depends how the file is set up. I'm quite happy with my Kindle eBook of the Necronomicon, it was only a tenner or so.

Worth bearing in mind that The Necronomicon is not complete, hence Necronomicon 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Good point. I was wondering what this mega-edition might have in it that isn't in the Necronomicon volume, and I'm guessing the answer is "quite a bit" then.

That's a bit "meh" though, reading the reviews. I've only read about half the stories in the Necronomicon, so I don't feel a burning desire to own more!

Swirling Vortex you say? Green you say? Spotted on Saturn's moon you say?

I'd say it was the Mi-Go or the Star Vampires. :zombie:
