1: Viva la Vida by Cold Play. (Song, not album).

Everyone knows Cold Play are shit because despite their apparent ability, their songs are dreary and cunts like them. So imagine my surprise driving about one day when Ken Bruce stuck this track on... I cocking well love it.

VLV is the best U2 song for a good decade, possible even a decade and a half, and they didn't even write/perform it. A plaintive yet assured reflection of status lost, the robust metaphor is used with such measured veracity that I defy anyone who has ever been dumped on their arse by circumstance in any way shape or form not to relate. Apparently it is about pre-revolutionary France or somesuch.

And yet, for all I love it, I've no inclination to listen to the album, and every live version of it I've heard, they just cant do it justice.

Your turn.

I agree, I like very little of Coldplay but I really like VLV.

I like Cemeteries of London and Lost a bit. I really love Talk off their previous album though. But mostly they're whingy, insufferable, boring cunts.

They're just so nice. I can't stand it.

Experience tells me to be suspicious of overly nice people, they almost invariably turn out to be screwed-up, mildly psychotic, paranoid twunts under the surface.

I'm absolutely harmless, and always amiable and accommodating.

Cor, I must be a total nutter.

They're not nice. Chris Martin is a pretend do-gooder. He's just a cunt who wants to run the world. He's absolutely DYING for knighthood. It makes me sick.

I fully expected the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall to be crap, but it wasn't. Even Russell Brand, whom I don't like, was good.

Braid on XBLA. Dammit, I hate platform games and I hate pretentious games, so I really didn't expect a pretentious platform game to be my 'thing'. After hearing the praise heaped on it, I tried the demo and I've been hooked since last weekend. Even Mrs Davpaz likes it. I've got 2 more puzzle pieces to get ('Fickle companion' if anyone has any tips) and I'm looking forward to finishing it so I can get back to Burnout!

:this:

The reviews made me want to vomit. It doesn't make you change your views on the world, and it doesn't reinvent video gaming... but it's a cracking little game, and even though I only spent a short time playing it, it was worth every penny/point. Extremely memorable and definitely worth getting.

I've finished it (as have several other people on here) and can give you tips on how to get the last pieces if you so desire (when I get home and remember what level that was).

:)

It's the level where the key will only stay with you if you're walking right, otherwise it bounces around all over the damn place.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I can't remember the exact logistics, but I think you have to get one of the creatures to bring it to you after you've gone past one of the doors.

And then there's a complicated bit involving some ladders.

I'll have a look when I get home. I do remember that one being quite tricky though.

There's really nothing else to do. I've finished worlds 2,3,5 and 6. The ladder to the loft is missing one section and try as I might, the bugger won't use the bathroom :(

Right, I've just fired up Braid for the first time in ages and I'm struggling to remember how to do this level. :(

For the first part,
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
you'll need to use the switch to move the platform to get the goomba to walk along the platform below the piece (carrying the key)

I can go into more detail on that if you want.

I'll update with the second part once I've remembered it.

Edit - Oh, right the second one is kind of easy - this is quite spoilery as I couldn't think of a way to break it down.
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Unlock the first door, and kill the goomba if he's already walking along the bottom of the screen, then walk as far left as you can underneath the door

You could always use a help site.

If not, here's the best advice I can give you for the first part.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Get as far as you can towards the piece behind the doors, then send the key back and get the enemy to respawn and bring it back to you

Fall Out Boy.

Honestly, for *the* emo band, they have far too many very good tracks.

I fucking hate emo and the one good thing to come out of my recent relationship breakdown is that at least I won't have to listen to fucking Panic At The Disco again - but MCR's Welcome To The Black Parade is, I'm afraid to say, a good album and Fall Out Boy do have some very god tracks, particularly their latest single.

MCR are a great pop band.

Panic at the Disco's second album is very good, mainly because it isn't at all emo and thusly is infinitely better than their first album.

Fall Out Boy had one good single, and have since released a lot of very average pap. Also, they should be renamed to Gross Out Boy or something, since their lead singer has trebled in body weight since they became popular, and is currently rumoured to be eating all of Africa's food.

The band took their name from Radioactive Man's sidekick, I believe.

Hellboy 2

Because the first one was bloody awesome and I was worried they'd do a hack job of it and it'd make me sad to watch it. This wasn't the case and I have seen it twice, once with Pru and then with Jo's kids-all loved it :) there were some things that annoyed me a bit about it though, but that's to be expected in any film

I hope Hellboy 3 is just as good.
