Be Excellent To Each Other

Does anyone have a decentish nVidia AGP graphics card they could be convinced to part with, for cash or swapsies or sexual favours? My ancient and decrepid Shuttle PC would like to be able to play CounterStrike:Source, but that ain't gonna happen with the Geforce FX5200 in there right now. Having looked around, the top card I can fit is a 7950 but they are pretty rare. 7800 GS or 7600 GS/GT seem to be my best bets.

I suppose I'd consider some manner of ATI equivalent too. Dunno much about those; did they make AGP cards longer than nVidia did?

And no, I don't want to buy a whole new PC ta, there's no way I'm going to play enough games to justify the financial investment.

See, I was tempted to get a cheapo desktop for the same reason, but I honestly don't know if it's going to be worth it for the amount it'll get played...

you can buy a Radeon x1650pro for about 50€. It seems that is much easier to find ATI agp cards than Nvidia's

I can't help with one, but I have a 7600GS and source engine games run more than fine so that's a good aim.

I think an ATI card might be a better bet.

I should point out this isn't all about CounterStrike, that's just what's motivating me now. I have a bunch of older PC games I would like to play, all of about that sort of era.

Ebay has a load for around £40.

Ebuyer has 'em new for £35 though.
