I've been asked to compile a folder of websites for kids to visit, as our old folder got nicked. However, after having a few ideas I am now reduced to scratching my head and growling as yet another google search turns up either sites trying to sell me things or incredibly obscure and specific subjects.

So, I was wondering if any of you with kids could fling some bookmarked pages at me? It'd help me hugely. I am getting ideas, but they're inducing headaches in thinking 'em up. These are the ones I have so far, with subject headers in bold:
