There is no possible reason for case sensitivity in file/URL names.

So? Filenames and URLs need to be human-readable as well as machine readable. Which of those is more fallible and should be given the benefit of the doubt? It's the human. So you allow the machine to treat cat and cAt the same because any sane human would.

Not to me, no. Correcting capitalisation on downloaded TV shows is the edge case that most often throws this up.

As a long term *Nix user, I find case insensitive file systems really jarring.
