Can anyone here recommend a good firewall to use with Vista 64 (home premium for me) please? Ideally for free, please.

I think I've seen someone (possibly QueerTrees) mention Vista 64 here before....

Thanks :)

Thats the one I've been using, with no problems so far. But can I use it to manage outgoing connections while I trial something, which I don't want to be able to connect to the interplops?

This, or the one that's on your router if you have one.

If it wants internet connectivity, it will add itself to the Windows Firewall exclusion list. You should be able to just untick it in that list to remove its ability to make outbound connections.

OK, ta, I'm messing about on XP at the moment - will pop over to Vista and have a fiddle in the settings later. I have to admit that I haven't really messed around with the windows firewall much. When I installed Vista i did a (very) brief search and found a lot of people saying use the built-in one then, too.

Again, thanks.
