Yeah, we're up to ep9, it's great. I love the batshit crazy brutality played for laughs.

Weevil been watching Designated Survivor. The first series is brilliant. The second series is nowhere near as good as they introduce a load of inplausibky irritating characters with bad accents to deal with ridiculous situations. Also, the female FBI agent is just plain bad at her job. She should be dead 70 times over by now.

We've reached the bit in Parks and Rec where Rob Lowe and Adam Scott join the cast and boy, this is great stuff. Just delightful, with a strong cast all bringing their A-games.

It's probably my favourite comedy of all time. Everyone is amazing and I love it.

I need to watch it again. I watched the first episode and it was like a bad version of The Office. Everyone says it gets better in series two, but meh.

We watched the first two or three episodes of season one and it was awful. Just dragged its bum, and we dropped it. A year or two later we for some reason decided to try it again and, really, it’s just amazing. It’s so wonderful. Stick with it, push through the first but if awkwardness and it becomes an absolute joy in the same kind of way that Brooklyn 99 is a joy.

I really enjoyed Parks and Recreation, but I can't stand Brooklyn 99. When I used to have E4, I'd put it on when there was nothing else to watch, but I rarely made it to the end of an episode.

Started watching '13 Reasons Why' yesterday. It's about a high school student who kills herself and leaves a set of tapes for those who drove her to it. With there being thirteen people and thirteen episodes, I was perhaps expecting something a little more focused perhaps; at times it feels like some teen soap opera trying to teach kids morals about how their actions affect others without them realising just how much. Still, I've watched five episodes now, so I'll see how the other eight go. I saw there's a second series being filmed though, so not sure how that'll work.

Ending up bingeing on the rest of this yesterday,

partly to get up to Clay's tape to find out what he'd actually done, and by then I wanted to get to the end of the season, so I watched the rest too. That last episode was very well done and was a tough watch for me, mainly due to the actress playing Hannah's mother.

Not really sure what to expect from a second season - I think another couple of episodes would have been enough to wrap everything up, but I'll still be watching it anyway.

Season 2 is much better. Season 1 is only six episodes.

Because I also started watching it, and it was dire.

You miss the reason why and how Leslie and Anne become friends but not a lot more.

It's two hours of your life. I'm sure you've wasted more time on worse things. Like the Expendables or Deadpool.

In other news, flashback dead Punisher wife looks disconcertingly like Tracy Emin around the edges.

The Punisher is great. Best Marvel/Netflix stuff since Daredevil. Does that same thing that all these shows do where it slows down and puts to my attention on under-developed sideplots, but you get to see a lot of Punishment. The dynamic between The Punisher and his partner is really well developed. It get quite brutal, but that's what I wanted to see.

He's not in a costume for most of the show, if that bothers you, but I think that worked great.

Edit: Make sure you've seen both seasons of Daredevil before you watch The Punisher, but none of the other stuff connects to it.

Uh, Jessica Jones was after Daredevil, so you appear to be saying DD was better than JJ, which is incredibly wrongheaded.

Well I think Daredevil season 1 is still the best Netflix show. And The Punisher is prominently featured in season 2.

Spoiler for what I heard about Daredevil season 3
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Kingpin is back as primary antagonist.

Edit: JJ is good too for the most part, but DD is better.

2/3 of the way through S1 and it's terribly written, poorly acted and the only good bit is the press secretary guy. Yet, I cannot stop watching it.

I'd generally agree with this. I did finish DD2 but didn't massively enjoy it--especially The Punisher parts--so I'll be giving The Punisher series a miss. I'm looking forward to The Defenders though which is nudging ever closer to getting watched given that I binged The Orville the other day.

And why do they use street view to recon a location but are surprised when they pop elsewhere and it isn't there? Why didn't they use satellite view?

One of those shows I'd compulsively watch, all the while chastising myself for so utterly wasting my time.

Have swerved S2, I'm done with it.

What! The Punisher bits were the redeeming feature of S2. The Elektra stuff made me nearly fall asleep.

Don't Trust the Birch duo hotter than 2 Broke Girls duo.

Discuss.

Also, the former way better than the latter.

Clowee positive role model.

2/3 of the way through S1 and it's terribly written, poorly acted and the only good bit is the press secretary guy. Yet, I cannot stop watching it.

:this: :this: :this:

One of those shows I'd compulsively watch, all the while chastising myself for so utterly wasting my time.

Have swerved S2, I'm done with it.

There was a point the script writers said "that's ace", who passed it on to the editors "who said "nailed it!" And everyone thought it was a good day's work.

I'd generally agree with this. I did finish DD2 but didn't massively enjoy it--especially The Punisher parts--so I'll be giving The Punisher series a miss. I'm looking forward to The Defenders though which is nudging ever closer to getting watched given that I binged The Orville the other day.

What! The Punisher bits were the redeeming feature of S2. The Elektra stuff made me nearly fall asleep.

I'm aware that I can't really justify that comment but something about the set-up just didn't work for me. Partly because I don't think your man who played him is good enough to be a lead actor, but also because all the philosophising was bollocks: Frank Castle's a murderer and DD isn't. The Punisher as a character is very difficult to make sympathetic and i just don't think think they managed it which made all the agonising nonsense.
