Neil Gaiman has said that he wants Bryan Fuller to do a Sandman TV show.

I'm clearly broken - I gave up on American Gods after about 20 minutes.

I really liked it but I've read the book and so I've got no idea what I would have made of it all otherwise. There's inevitably a lot missing and it seems to move along at breakneck speed.

I have no idea what's going on. Definitely one for the fans rather than new viewers.

I avoided Fargo the TV series for ages because I love the film so much and thought it was going to be a crappy remake, but I was an idiot because it's brilliant. Each season is set in a different time period but linked to the movie and each other. If you like the film then I recommend it highly!

Well DUH.

Glad you decided to give it a whirl.

Never read American Gods because the premise sounded so stupid, but when it comes to TV Shows, my standards are lower, and i guess i'm falling to the hype, so i'm going to watch it tonight.

The third season of Fargo is keeping the high quality we're used to. McGregor is great on it, and the guy who plays is lawyer is going to be the Ed Harris of his generation (best supporting actor around). Too bad I don't even know his name even though he's everywhere. The actress who plays Nora Durst on the Leftovers is also on it, and she's fantastic as always.

Silicon Valley is still the funniest show on TV.

The Leftovers is even better/weirder than on season 2.

Better Call Saul - I love the Jimmy/Kim story line, but i'm not really into the Mike plot with the drug gangs. It's getting a bit boring actually.

I like Mike. I wish i can look as badass as him when i'll get to his age.

It's just there's not much overlapping between his and Saul's storyline right now. It seems like i'm watching two different shows.

American Gods: Really liked the neon-noir ambience. It's promising. The problem with "real-world" fantasy is that's hard to balance before it becomes silly. The first season of true blood did it right. All the others didn't and suffered from power creep/Dragon Ball Z syndrome.

Let's see if American Gods can pull it off.

Author:  markg [ Thu May 04, 2017 11:23 ]
Post subject:  Re: General Purpose US TV thread

True Blood just went on far too long, like they started with everything except an actual story to tell then just kept on winging it. Hopefully American Gods will reach its conclusion in a season or two.

It's finally happened.

2 Broke Girls has been CANCELLED.

I gotta say, it's been a long time coming even though I loved it for a fair few seasons. Unfortunately Stifler's mom often made it utterly unbearable given her prominence. Goddamn Max, I'll miss you and your fabulous big boobs.

Why did it have to die when The Big Bang Theory is allowed to love?

I'll wait for Grim... to post the Super Bowl vid to conclude this gorgeous train wreak of a programme.
