The first 15 minutes of the latest Preacher are fantastic.

OitnB is still fun, but the show has been transitioning from Drama/Comedy to full on Comedy/Drama for a while, and that worries me. The only thing holding it from being a full on comedy is still some heavy themes being around, but i wouldn't be surprises if they get totally dropped for next season.

Still can't quite make my mind up about Preacher. It's got good qualities, but not sure how successfully it's building to a larger story.

I'm beginning to dislike the lead more and more, which isn't a good sign.

Not started it yet, its not my wife's taste so would only watch when she goes out with her running club. Main reason is its one of the few shows that I've read all the comics for and I'm just looking at none spoiler feedback like this before I watch it.

Yeah I read the comics, but only the once and it's been a while.

There's some good casting choices, I think Gilgun as Cassidy is inspired, and he's obviously got the range for both the comedic and tragic sides of the character. The dude playing Quincannon is perfect for the role too (it's the guy who played Rorschach in the Watchmen movie).

They've made quite a few changes to how the story unfolds compared to the comics. I think one of the things I liked about the comics is how it was a road trip, they were always on the move and getting into trouble in new locations. For the TV show they've fudged some of the chronology and it's all taking place in the same one town where Jesse is the preacher. I can see why they made that change to suit the TV series format better, but it has resulted in it feeling a little slower than I'd like.

Still, lots of individual bits that are entertaining, I'm just not yet entirely sold on it.

Ruth Negga is great, too.

Huh, having just looked her up, I've discovered that (a) she's dating Dominic Cooper and (b) she was raised in Ireland, so all three Preacher leads are British. But only one of them is Irish, and it isn't Gilgun.

Only if you're going for a very loose 'From the British Isles' definition of British.

Haven't watched any of the Preacher series yet, kind of forgot it existed after seeing the trailer to be honest. I'm not sure if I'm going to catch it, as the comics seemed cinematic enough for me and I was really happy with them. As to changes in the plot and so on, I don't mind so much about that, I'd only get cross if they changed what makes the characters who they are.

Rick and Morty still brilliant. Just seen the SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT! episode. I am now compelled to bellow frowningly at people, "SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!" Which possibly may land me in trouble.

I really don't like it. For a show that tries to look like it's doing computers properly, it still does everything fucking wrong. And that makes it worse.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!

An IP address that couldn't exist, no less.

I thought it was okay, but I wasn't super-sold on it. I'll watch the next series, though.

I gather that the show's creator really wanted to use an actual possible ip address, but was prevented from doing so by the network/US broadcasting regulations. He even wanted to buy a static ip and use that, but even still it wouldn't have been allowed.

It is more realistic than pretty much any other TV show or movie, right?

It's visually much more realistic. In the details it's just as fucking wrong. Something like scorpion is at least honest in its made up bullshit. They could have done that stuff in a way that's both easy to understand and accurate, but they didn't bother.

Also, why would broadcasting regulations stop you advertising an IP address? it's not like the existence of an IP address is some sort of secret.

They're not, though. Several shows have used real ones, and some movies.

Also, Scorpion has used a real IP address, because it is more realistic than Mr Robot.

It's just presented as "Part 1" and then it says "Interlude" at the end.

I think the difference is that they are broadcast back to back, but only part 1 is on the internet so far.

It'll be two episodes of the usual 40/50 minute length.

I don't think that there's an Aussie TV thread, so I'm putting it here.

'Please Like Me' is a very funny sitcom.

Apparently it starts off a little weak, but I only watched a couple of episodes from Series 3, so that didn't affect me.

Plus the girl in it who was in Neighbours is marvellous.

Just started Stranger Things. 5 minutes in and it's already ace. That D&D campaign sounded cool.
