I like it, it can be a bit silly, and a bit meandering, but there's plenty to enjoy.

I liked the first season, but i gave up on the second after the first episode. It seemed it was going the way of True Blood.

Oh, yes! This is superb.

How far through are you?
Last episode of this series next week in the States.

Ep5. Really liking it still.

Mr Robot is getting very good. Took me a little while to warm to it, but I am fully on board now.

It seems that I'm the only person on earth that thoroughly enjoyed the second season of true detective. While it started worse than the first, it went out on a bang instead of a whimper

I too enjoyed it...not sure why there was so much hate directed towards it (apart from it not being season 1) but there was nothing else on TV to match it.

Mr. Robot has been excellent to far (first 3 episodes). It kind of reminds me of dexter, but much less shitty.

And there's lots of details that give me nerdgasms, like the soundtrack and the title screen.

Thats what Wikipedia suggests

Quote:
The series was officially picked up on May 9, 2015 for the 2015–16 season and it is scheduled to premiere in 2016.

So if its part of the 2015 season then i think early 2016 (and a short run maybe 13 eps?) - but some of this stuff can change when the new season starts and things fail - if Fox has a number of eps of it ready it may appear sooner

Has anybody seen Lilyhammer?

We watched the first season and it was ok! I mean, was far from the best TV we'd seen, but was watchable and passed the evenings.

So we watched the second series and it was just ridiculous. It was badly written, awfully directed. It was like an experiment by about 30 different directors. It was all over the place.

Goodness knows what happened between those two series.

The Lucifer comics series is fucking amazing and one of the best things I've ever read so will someone please remind me whenever this starts proper? I'm not going to bother with the pilot but I'll pick it up once it starts rolling.

I watched the first season. I was in lillehammer when i noticed that it was a thing, and that Silvio from the sopranos was in. I liked it a lot, even if it's kind of amauteurish compared to the american shows. Well, didn't know there was a second season, but it seems i wasn't missing much.

Post subject:  Re: General Purpose US TV thread

I've read the Wiki page on it now and I'm a bit worried about the whole 'he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals' bit because that's some pretty cliched stuff. Following him as he creates his own universe (as in the comics) is probably a bit too high concept for a new TV show admittedly, but some bullshit buddy-cop type thing goes to the whole other end of the spectrum and is a fairly mundane use of the character. If they pull in a fantastical element to proceedings then it could work but there's a danger of this just becoming 'Lucifer, police sidekick' which can fuck off.

There are some parts of this in the pilot (you see other angels and you have a few glimpses of his powers) but it would be a concern if it turns into a standard police procedural

So the last episode of the season of Hannibal then. Pretty incredible.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
pretty climactic ending. I loved it, but I'm disappointed that they didn't have the balls to have Hannibal and Will kiss in the final moments. I can't really see how either of them would survive that fall, so I guess it really is over, although it's not out of the question for them to come up with an explanation for them to have survived. He show does have a habit of letting people survive stuff which should definitely kill them.

If that's all we're getting I'm satisfied.

Fear The Walking Dead is as bland as I expected. I don't know if the writers are just bad or if it's intentionally derivative because it's aimed at people who don't have much background in watching zombie/post-apocalyptic films.

Has anyone watched 'The League'.

We're halfway through Season 2 and it is very entertaining, in a childish dick-joke sitcom fashion.

It is about a group of people who compete in a Fantasy Football league (in the States - American football). You don't need to know anything about the sport (my wife likes the show), and it's mostly just a group of semi-familiar blokes taking the piss (and one amazing lady too).

It's surprisingly fun.
