Having seen a couple of clips of a Malkovitch interview on The Wil Wheaton Project, I'm not convinced.

Has John Malkovich is it so should be good, also its about Pirates, whats not to like?

One episode out so far

Got it downloaded, not watched it yet.

Reviews are a bit "meh".

Impression I get is that it's worth watching to see Malkovich and Richard Coyle facing off against each other but, other than that, it's a bit bland (ie. your enjoyment is mostly dependent on you being a fan of those actors).

I like both actors so I'll give it a go, not expecting too much though. We'll see...

Watched it the other night, thought it was Ok, but not 100% sure if I will keep on with it, a few more episodes are needed before I make my mind up!

Started watching Fargo last night, its brilliant and better still my wife likes it as well so its something we can both watch during the TV drought period we are in at the moment.

Also for fans of Orange is the new Black S2 of that airs tomorrow.

Watching 3 of those plus Mad Men and Fargo and Crossbones! Still updates are very thin on the ground, normally I will have 3 or more things a day

It depends what you're watching of course but certainly my episode calendar has almost completely emptied in the last few weeks. Of all the stuff I was watching only Game of Thrones and Veep are currently showing and they've only got like two episodes left. Now that I'm single though I might spend less time watching TV and more time playing games so I'm not in a rush to fill my schedule back up again; plus I've got a backlog of things like Black Mirror and the excellent looking The Returned that I should investigate. I need to try out Silicon Valley though as I suspect it'll resonate strongly and Alpha House looks like it could be good as well.

I'm loving the break - means I can try and catch up on the stupid backlog.
Finished off season three of Person Of Interest last night.

I've not seen two episodes, but they did cram all the boobs into the first few minutes, more or less.

It's still worth watching though, somehow!

They did include the redhead from That 70s Show though, so that's good.

I'm not watching it because of the boobs. It felt a bit much for the train, you see.

You wouldn't want to watch episode 3 on a train, for sure.

Cancelled shows, that I had either started watching or downloaded

• Intelligence
• Dracula
• Legit
• Crisis
• Believe
• Star Crossed
• The Tomorrow People
• Almost Human
• Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
• Hello Ladies
• Californication

Post subject:  Re: General Purpose US TV thread

Almost Human? Bugger, I was going to watch that.

Californication wasn't cancelled as such, it was a planned ending.

The only other one I watched was Dracula, and it was rubbish.

Author:  Doctor Glyndwr [ Sun Jun 22, 2014 10:41 ]
Post subject:  Re: General Purpose US TV thread

Almost Human hung by a thread but in the end didn't make it. If you watch it anyway, watch the episodes in the intended order -- like Firefly, Fox fucked about with the broadcast ordering.

Some new shows

Dominion- Cross between Game of Thrones and Supernatural

Last Ship- " a global virus pandemic nearly obliterates the earth's population" crew of a navy destroyer are all that are left etc

Also True Blood S7 started today

Not watched any of the new stuff yet as my parents have been staying for the last 4 days. Last night we had to watch Country File, followed by Antiques Road Show :DD

The 100 looks like a load of teen fluff at first but it really does improve hugely and has been renewed.

Halt and Catch Fire has been great so far, as has Penny Dreadful.
The Last Ship started last night so I've got that to watch this evening.

Yes, it was very good, but the show is still full of those bullshit moments that annoy me like

billy bob thornton never getting caught despite being completely uncautious. I had to tell myself that he was some kind of demigod like Judge Holden in Blood Meridian to take the show seriously
