I'm up to episode 5 of Sons of Anarchy Series 6. Lord knows what is going on, now, it's massively over complicated.

Eps 3 to 9 have arrived so I'm getting them now. No doubt the rest will appear before I get round to watching them, but thanks for the offer.

Just watched the first 3 episodes of "Wayward Pines". Wtf?

It's a bit like a mishmash of "The Prisoner" and "Life on Mars" starring Matt Dillon and directed by M Night Shalawayan.

Fox seem to be showing it a day or so after the U.S. and the first three episodes are on sky catchup.

I'm really excited by the return of Hannibal, it's unlike anything else on television. And feels like it shouldn't exist. Can't believe it isn't more popular.

I'm really looking forward to this as well. The second series was some of the best TV I've seen in years.

At the very least its the most beautifully filmed thing on tv. It's like a surreal art piece.

I've got season 1 on bluray and couldn't be bothered to fire it up. I'll give it a punt now with such praise.

Yes the visuals are amazing, but you have to mention the sound design. It often does more story telling with sounds than images.

It's better than any of the films, in my opinion. Deals with a complex range of themes intelligently, and masterfully balances 'monster of the week' with a bigger arc. It's full of fantastic characters and relationships, and above all else it's incredibly funny, if you like your comedy dark. I love the rhythm of the writing. Setup, punchline, another punchline that takes it just a bit too far.

Cannot wait for it's return.

Started Hannibal last night. Can't say it's quite grabbed me as yet but seems quite slick.

The season finale of Outlander was quite uncomfortable viewing - noticably worse than the GoT episode with Sansa and Ramsay

Absolutely agree. The finale to season 2 has music that MAKES IT THE MOST INTENSE THING EVER*.

* not including Fury Road. Obv.

Recently, Outlander has made GoT look like a Sunday-afternoon family ITV Drama.

Up to episode 5 of Daredevil - it's really very good. Rosario Dawson is a delight, as ever, and Foggy and Karen are a great pairing. It's also pleasingly gritty and horrible for a Marvel franchise adaptation. The bit with the guy who headbutts a spike on a fence is just... well, self explanatory.

The guy that plays Foggy annoyed the shit out of me for ages, he just didn't seem to be up to par with the rest of the cast and so stood out massively. As the series went on though and the character himself stopped being pointless comedy sidekick the acting seemed to get better and he was much more acceptable by the end of it. I still think they've miscast that character but it's not quite as jarring as it was at the start at least.

Hmmm. I was going to go off on a massive thing about how you're wrong and that because, you know, you're not me, but, actually, you're probably right. I'm rose tinting him as the rest of the cast and the writing and everything is ace, but he's a bit of an odd choice all told.

Started to watch Bates Motel last night and even though the contemporary modern theme kind of threw me I must say I really enjoyed it. It was nice to see the British kid from Spiderwick Chronicles playing Norman too.

I just hope it doesn't quickly turn to crap like Grimm did.

I also thought Foggy was the weak link of the cast.

I've been watching season 1 and, so far, it's been thoroughly excellent. Someone should give it its own thread for more talkie talkie.

Sooo...it seems that one of the episodes in next year's X Files revival will be called "Home Again". Oh I do so hope it is a sequel to "Home", one of the nastiest hours of television ever created, a squalid, filthy piece of work.

Needless to say I really enjoyed it.

Orange is the new Black starts again this week as does Defiance

Also seen a new show out this week as well Dark Matter

"The six-person crew of a derelict spaceship awakens from stasis in the farthest reaches of space. Their memories wiped clean, they have no recollection of who they are or how they got on board. The only clue to their identities is a cargo bay full of weaponry and a destination: a remote mining colony that is about to become a war zone. With no idea whose side they are on, they face a deadly decision. Will these amnesiacs turn their backs on history, or will their pasts catch up with them? "

Looks promising

Holy fuck shit, that sene where Abigail learns that Hannibal is, um, Hannibal was a good scene. The look on her face as he's stroking her face and she asks "Are you going to kill me?" was perfect.

That's how you do TV folks. Hannibal's ending was excellent. It could be a stand alone series and I'd have been immensely satisfied but knowing there's another series of this is very exciting.

This is an acting masterclass from everyone involved. The madness of Will Graham is excellently done when it could so easily have been terrible nonsense but somehow existing television tropes are trampled over. The drawing of the clockface on paper scene was so simple and elegant yet it did everything it needed to in a few seconds.

I'm really impressed with this series.

It's funny because I started to watch The Following with Kevin Bacon but it was just nonsense after nonsense. Hannibal episode 1 grabbed me by the bollocks and told me to watch episode 2. Episode 2 showed me mushrooms (you'll know if you've see it) and blew my mind; I was totally committed from then.

Gomorra on Amazon player thing was bloody brilliant. It's Italian but I'm fucked if I'm making a thread for Italian TV. Anyways it's about some mafia type people, really beautifully shot and scored and totally compelling.

Just finished S4 of The Wire, such a good show, if you have not seen it already you should

Was released on the NG is improved format the back end of 2014 as well so it looks a lot better than the older SD episodes.

I do love it lots. I'm also 3 eps in and one thing I have spotted is that this series seems a lot more flashback heavy than the previous two. I mean, I know that's what they do, showing the stories of the girls and how they ended up there, but it feels like a lot more of it is flashbacks than the others.

The flashbacks have become much more varied. Season one was obviously focussed a lot on Piper and Alex's past and as season one and season two went on it started to go into the history of the other women. This season seems to be showing more of the guards backstories as well and instead of focussing on one character per episode it is jumping around. I like it though, I really like how it's becoming more and more about the whole ensemble of characters and not just about Piper. Even though Piper is my favourite.

Constantine has been cancelled, shame as I thought it was ok. Better than Supernatural is now and certainly Grimm.

Some rumour that they might cross the character into Arrow of all shows but I can't see that happening.

Also Helix as well
