Yes, but this is the first time they have found one that they knew was going to hit the earth before it hit the earth.

Rocks of such size are thought to hit the atmosphere every few months, says Steve Chesley, an astronomer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Doesn't fill me with much confidence.
