I've heard the pub in the new Animal Crossing only shuts at 11. :(

No, I think you are wrong - see this is called 'City Folk' and being a city pub it obviously shuts at 2am.

KLONOA!

But otherwise, nothing but pony grooming and dog medicating shite. And why the fuck isn't there a Densha de GO! game for DS yet?

I just reviewed this for [a certain Nintendo magazine—Ed], and it's a really odd one. Formulaic, really easy, and basically a reworked SNES game. But it's really good fun while it lasts. Clearly, it'll be less fun when released in the UK at a standard price-point, but at the US-o-price, it's worth a look.

aye. Metroid Prime 3 and SMG showed lots of potential in the console, but since then only crap games have been released.

Oh, come now. Happy Dance Collection sounds... happy, at least.

Incidentally what was so shiny about Sin and Punishment? I wound up paying a slightly silly amount of money for in on N64 import a couple of years or so back and was wildly underwhelmed. But because of that I've only played it about three times, so I concede I may be missing something. Anyone care to explain the appeal to a heathen?

Nothing to do with the lack of games. They stole my star points.

I'm in the middle of reviewing it too, my review is basically going to be -

Quote:
Kirby Superstar was one of the top tier SNES games, easily one of the better platformers on the system.
Kirby Superstar Ultra is not one of the best games on the DS.
It is the same game as the SNES one, with a substantial lick of paint.
Ergo, one can surmise that the DS library is in at least some ways better than that of the SNES.

Progress

Metroid Prime 3 was the last Wii game I bought and since then I've not had the urge to buy another. Not that I've got round to playing it yet.

it's very good, but like every other mp game, i haven't finished, altough i was very close. The controls are ace, and it proves that more fps should be done for the wii.

i was playing Okami just now, and i don't understand what's so good about it. Well, actually i do, the graphics are great. Otherwise it's just going here and there doing boring errands, reading boring dialogues and having some unremarkable and unchallenging fights.

The DS list missed off Imagine Teacher!
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Play as a rookie teacher who takes over a class in a newly built modern school. At the beginning your class only has a few kids because most of the kids in town are used to going to a school located in the next town over. It is your job to bring those students back to make your classroom and school the best place to learn. The game really begins when you meet some characters who don't want you to succeed.

valve have shown an interest in doing something on the wii if they had the man power, I think if the rumoured wii HD was true they might have done something. I so wish the wii HD was true.

I don't know what Sin and Punishment is, but I think that it will be a crushing disappointment compared to what I'm imagining right now using the wiimote for.

That Party Babies thing looks like a Somethingawful Photoshop Phriday thing.

Also, that horse game has to include SHEATH CLEANING or it isn't realistic.

What the hell is that game about?

Actually, I just looked:

In Imagine Party Babyz girls can play as a babysitter and take care of adorable babies. Entertain the babies through hilarious mini-games such as swings, tricycle races, monster chases in babies’ dreams, dancing and soap bubbles contests.

Why in the name of all fuckity fuck would anyone want to do this? Secondly, who they hell thought it would be a good idea for a game? I bet it sells loads.

Because some people enjoy playing games like this.

Because some people will buy games like this.

What is wrong with companies providing these types of games for the people who enjoy those games?

As much as the gender stereotyping rankles the suffragette in me, it's kind of nice to have games that don't involve beating or killing things. And it's kind of like pokemons, or truck driving, or football management. Stuff that seems like work unless you're doing it for fun.

My wife plays loads of the Imagine games. Imagine Baby Sitter, Imagine Fashion Model, Imagine Your First Bra, Imagine Pink Things, Imagine Noses on Kittens, etc.

I asked her if they were any good the other day. She said, "No, not really."

Well I see people playing tedious dronery like Halo and they seem to be fine with being bored for hours like that. I think it's just something to pass the time. Knitting might be more productive, though (than Halo, not Imagine Riding Unicorns)

In a (kind of) related way, I was taken to Diggerland once whilst still working (or maybe having very recently worked) for Highways Agency. People were paying a fortune to do what I did for a living, and they weren't even allowed to be dangerous.
I let the nice man talk me through all of the controls and how a JCB worked, then as soon as he got out I stood it up on it's front bucket. He looked like I'd shot his dog or something :)

Diggerland!

I go past one of those every time I go to the cinema. I've always wondered what the hell it actually was.

You get to play* in a digger.

*You just dig holes and stuff. If you want some fun in a JCB, hire one and find a field.
