I'm off to Rhodes tomorrow for a week in a five star hotel :D (That's what going in October can get you :p).

Where's the best place to get some Euros? Everyone says the Post Office, but the queues are always huge. Any ideas?

Also, anybody else going on holiday in the cold winter months?

The Post Office is VERY expensive for currency.

M+S is usually a pretty good choice.

Now that is a surprise! Don't they sell pants and expensive food?

Yes, that they do.

However the ones of any size (Ealing for instance) also do currency. They should have euros in stock but they were more than happy to order me so Bahrain funbucks in April.

Post office have a slightly better rate on Euros today than M&S.

You can order it online, and sometimes foreign currency has it's own little booth somewhere so you do have to queue. My local WHSmiths has a post office money booth.

It's funny you should mention Bahrain funbucks because my dad offered me some last night, saying I could exchange them for Euros.

That's changed, the post office used to make a big thing of their no commission thing, but when I worked it out for the funbucks their rate was so terrible they were only cheaper up to about £50.

If you have a new half dinar, it's got a very nice pic of the grand prix circuit on the back.

If you have a Nationwide account you can draw it out for free + no commission whilst abroad.

Yes they do. You may also bump into Myleene Klass while you're there.

They forgot to put a bullet point in front of her, though.

Where in Rhodes are you off to, jonarob? We saw Lindos and Rhodes Town - both well worth it if you like historical stuff, and the beach at Lindos is lovely.

Ooooh nice!

I just go down to see my mum over the christmas break usually and spend time mooching around Exeter and other such places. I may even take my sister and get her lost on the Moor!

Kalathos, just near Lindos.

This is the hotel: http://www.atrium.gr/

It's one of the best on the whole island apparently (hopefully) :D
