Just been looking around for an alternative to eBay for running a small store and came across eBid.

Does anyone have any knowledge/experience of them? It won't be for running lots of auctions at once, more a sort of store type thing. It looks reasonable, and a "all you can eat for £50 lifetime" offer seems good.

So I throw myself on the knowledge of BeeX.

Same problem as anywhere that isn't ebay. Buyers don't go there because sellers don't list there because buyers don't go there.

EDIT : Also just had a quick look in the games section, every single auction I've looked at so far is for counterfeit or pirated games.

I used it at the start and it was one of the 3 auction sites i had :

Ebay
Yahoo Auctions
Ebid

They were okay then - but the total volume of stuff on their site just kept going down and down and after yahoo auctions finished everyone moved to ebay rather than Ebid.

I think i have a rating of 40 or 50 on there but i've not used it in at least 5 years.

All the 'non ebay' ones just dont get enough traffic to make things worthwhile :-(

I've only ever used Ebid as a buyer rather than seller. It's been going for a good while now and outlasted lots of others like QXL, Goricardo, Yahoo Auctions, Aucland, Freeserve Auctions etc but I rarely even look on there as a buyer now as you could list stuff for a month or to expire 30 days after the first bid so there'd be loads of stuff on there I'd already seen.
