Should the man offer to pay for a meal on a date?
Yes, of course, tight-arse. 48%  48%  [ 16 ]
No, and even suggesting to do so is implying that you find women to be inferior to men and by paying for a meal you are putting the woman in your debt and therefore expecting payment (probably of a sexual nature) in return. 15%  15%  [ 5 ]
None of the above. 36%  36%  [ 12 ]

Have you actually made all those posts, RG, or is it an 'in joke'?

Does "gone well" mean fourth or fifth base?

seeing as the original question was should the gentleman *offer* then the answer from me is a definite YES. Whether there is a counter offer to go halves, thats up to the individual to accept and should be judged on an ad hoc basis.

Personally, I'm a big beleiver in chivalry and I love treating my gf still, much like I did on our first date. Thats not to say she doesnt chip in or that we take turns, but if I were to account for everything I'd say I pay more, for various reasons of course, but chivalry included.

Yeps, will be seeing her again, not sure when yet as we're both genuinely quite busy. Seems to be going well!

And "gone well" is just "first base"... I am a gentleman. :hat:

What is "first base" now, though? Is it still snogging?

I thought it was holding hands or something. Knowing kids these days it's probably anal.

My little brother has text(ed?) me the bases as he knows them:
1st: Kissing
2nd: Feeling boobs / willies / fannies
3rd: Oral
4th: Sex

5th is still anal, I presume.

What about ATM, then? 6th?

DP at somewhere higher.

Pegging* even higher still.

I reckon we could get up to tenth base at least.

Ask Mrs Grim... :)

I suspect the answer is somewhere other than "yes", though, isn't it?

I thought second was titties and third was getting your hand in their pants? I don't think oral is a base.

No wonder we don't play baseball over here - we'd run out of players to fill the bases.

I would have thought most people would have oral sex after vaginal sex?

Only if you were asked to clear up after yourself. And it's not a very effective form of contraception, I might add.

EDIT - DAMN YOU ZARDOZ.

Oral sex should come before penetrative sex almost as a matter of course, certainly when the recipient is a woman.

And both should definitely come after the meal to avoid being thrown out of the restaurant.

Well obviously. You don't get the bill until after the meal, silly.

Random internets reckons:

first base = kissing,
second base = kissing and touching over clothes,
third base = kissing and touching under clothes,
home = sex

Stupid americans. USE YOUR WORDS.

But that analogy produced this:

Quote:
OK, here we go, we got a real pressure cooker going here. Two down, nobody on, no score, bottom of the ninth. There's the windup, and there it is. A line shot up the middle, look at him go. This boy can really fly. He's rounding first and really turning it on now. He's not letting up at all, he's gonna try for second. The ball is bobbled out in the center. And here's the throw and what a throw. He's gonna slide in head first. Here he comes, he's out. No, wait, safe, safe at second base. This kid really makes things happen out there. Batter steps up to the plate. Here's the pitch, he's going. And what a jump he's got. He's trying for third. Here's the throw. It's in the dirt, safe at third. Holy cow, stolen base. He's taking a pretty big lead out there. Almost daring them to try and pick him off. The pitcher glances over, winds up and it's bunted. Bunted down the third-base line. The suicide squeeze is on. Here he comes, squeeze play, it's gonna be close. Here's the throw, here's the play at the plate. Holy cow, I think he's gonna make it!

Quite. I'd not heard of that term before, and was looking forward to finding out. And the reaction was "oh. Is that all?". I didn't even realise there was a specialised term for that, it's so unremarkable. I mean, honestly, what do people think the internet is for?

That term's thanks to Dan Savage, I think, the chap who brought us Santorum.

Also - what do people think God gave us orifices for, exactly?
