The graphics haven't stood the test of time as well as Doom but I decided to buy it within 30 seconds of playing the demo...Hail to the King indeed Baby.

Not borked, just faster than most shooters out there now (same can be said of Doom as well).

Played this this morning. I forgot that DN3D has mouse look. I wanted it to control like Doom on the 360.

That and the perspective effects from look about are really screwy.

Still the time reload thingy is sexcellent.

It was like that back when I played it. (Indeed, if you actually look, most 3d games distort if you look around.)

So, I've never played it before. Is it worth getting for any other than nostalgic reasons?

I'm enjoying it, but I don't remember the maps anywhere near as well as I do with doom. Which is odd, as I played this about the same amount.

Hmmm, not convinced really. I spent ages at the beginning scrabbling around for pistol ammo, then on the second level scrabbling around for health.

Man, I'd forgotten how cheap the enemy placements are.

You're all doing it wrong! It's not an easy game, and ammo can be scarce at the start, but once it gets going it's excellent. It still amazes me the amount of secret areas and little easter eggs in Duke 3D.

I might pick it up next time I get a cheapo Tesco 2100 points card, but I'm not buying points especially for it. I expect you'll have all played it to death by then and there'll be no point, but there we are.

I can feasibly see myself getting top marks for this one, assuming the online servers are full for a while. Think I'll go for 100 online kills tonight.

I think the trial satisfied my nostalgia for this. Don't think I'll be spending points on it.

Especially as the wife noticed that Feeding Frenzy 2 is out and played the trial for hours last night. I think I need to buy that, then.

To me it was worth the 800 points for single-player. I hope this release is a success and it leads to Blood being released.

Never played it first time round so I got it last night after playing the demo. Only played the first level before an invite arrived, then up to my neck in Bezzies and confusion* until 1.30am. I need to play through on single player really.

BUYER BEWARE: THERE ARE BOOBZ IN THIS GAME

*the swimming / Jesus water walking up down button malarky was the main offender, but having no idea of the maps didn't help as I desperately tried to follow the 'Pros'.

Yeah, this was the problem I had with Doom. I always seemed to get left behind as I didn't know the levels as well as other people.

I'd forgotten everything and was left behind and ended up fucking it off and playing Burny P.

It wa pretty amusing sitting with Dave and Dimrill powering straight the way through the entire game with Dimrill gibbering because he got confused over where we were meant to be going.

He's a pro now of course, he's finished.

Just the multiplayer achievements to get now, but those you hafve to be in ranked to get, which means playing with non-bezzies.

Can I bring myself to do that?

Blimey.. it only came out yesterday. I'm planning on making the single-player game last me for weeks.

We actually completed it twice. Once with Dave, Sheepeh and I, and then again with Dave, Sheepeh, Meaty, Zardozish and I. Lawks.

You dragged me through half of it you mean. I actually thought the first level I joined in on was a deathmatch.

Yeah, I was dragged through the first 1/2 by Sheepeh and Dave before they started to get lost and forgetful. Then I started to enjoy it!

I might buy it next month then ask Zards and devilman if they want to play co-op.
