I remember collecting these, and probably still have them knocking around at home. They came in Frosties and you got two cards and a sticker, if memory serves correct. I managed to cover my NES with them, . That is nowhere near complete btw, they're missing a spectacularly ugly Parodius card and all the stickers.

But it does have a quite, quite brilliant hotlink redirect.

TOP SECRET TIPS you say?

"Collect the starman to become invinsible" (sic)
"Crouch on the white block to fall behind the scenery and then run to the end of the level!"
"Give monster bait to the grumbling guy"
"Press up up down down left right B A start for 30 mens!!"

Tips that every child ever already knows, you mean!

And I have no doubt that some aren't even game tips, but patronising life tips like "Remember to help with the household chores" and "eat healthy food to feel great - like Super Mario does!"

I had some of these too! I remember the Castlevania one being incredibly poorly drawn. I wasn't massively into Nintendo at the time (although I did have a gameboy) so didn't recognise some of the characters/game titles.

I'm pretty sure they have been thrown away though. Some I stuck on my sister's bed to annoy her years and years ago.

I shall open one up later (for some reason, my box of 48 packs has 49 in) and reveal the secretive goodness that lies within.

Found my old NES. There's 3 stickers on there, Q*Bert, Marioland (submarine hi jinx) and Castlevania, with what looks like Simon Belmont the Hair Metal Years. I still haven't found all the cards with it, so far just one, a reasonable looking Samus Aran from Metroid.

For sheer joy here's a link to the original Nesplayer merchandise part.

Looks like MetalAngel was right about the quality of the tips

And for completeness, the other side of the cards...

When it says 'find two turnips' or 'find a shyguy' by scratching the cards, you 'win' what, exactly?

Don't just say 'the game' or I'll give you my flu.

It does seem a little odd - all the thrill of scratch cards without the prizes.

Plus it's a 'game' you can only play once, as you can't exactly reuse the cards.

And that Zelda 'trip' transcends rubbish. 'Prolong' your playing time by just sitting there, eh? What a concept!
