No, I have not seen fairly-well-regarded Brit horror flick Eden Lake, but would quite like to do so. If you decide to view it, do let us know if it's "much cop".

Will let you know later tonight, gonna catch the 5.35pm at a chav cinema near me, for added effect.

The reviews seem generally strong, and im not scared of some gore. Should be a good'un!

Ok so I went to see this tonight

Definitely without doubt the darkest film I've seen

Bleak, unrelenting, emotional, harsh...
A truly horrifying experience.

For what its worth I read all the reviews, and the derogatory ones are not correct.
The plot is better than most of these genre, its very 'current', it makes sense, and its just bloody rough to watch.

An experience. One that I wont rush to repeat, but definitely if you like your films hard hitting and dark, it wont get much more dark than this.

Makes dead mans shoes feel like a walk in the park.

edit - oh, and its not as gory as its made out to be. but it is violent, make no mistake.
the end is also amazing, amazing in its horrificness.

Sounds good, heard nothing but good things about it. Will try to catch it next week, probably.

Is this the horror film where the baddies are "Chavs"?

Ostensibly yes, the people who they run into could be defined as chavs, but not so much of the charicature you might see in the press, or joked upon in Little Britain et al.

They seems like (depressingly) regular kids, led to bad things by a ringleader.

If you like to be pretentious about your movies, it does seem to have a message and a commentary on society.

Ah right cool

Sorry, ZOMG confuses me as its mostly used for sarcasm I find.
Indeed, Dead Mans Shoes is amazing.
FYI Dead Mans Shoes is the better film in my opinion, but in terms of horribleness Eden Lake is worse :)

Oh my. That was horrific.

That's the last time I go to see a film entirely based on someone off the internet telling me it's horrible :DD
