Today I have looked around the office and every bit is tidy except-my desk -_-;

I was just wondering how neat/slobby people were at work.

These are the things on my long desk at the moment

5 small cat figures on the Epson printer hood (or lid-whatever)
Half a pack of quavers
Vaporub, great to inhale to give you a buzz/clear colds (and it feels nice on yer chest)
Invoice books
Jo's Turkey and cranberry roll (I haven't stole it...I'm just looking at it...)
Wageslips for today
4 calculators
A picture Jo's kids drew and various other things they've brought in for me (chuppa chup lolly sticks...noice)
100 sheets of paper, 60 of them have doodles on-the rest have important notes
List of people who owe the company money
2 large artworks that I'm halfway through
An athletic vest order
List I've been given for ordering staples, notepads, envelopes, cyanide, paper, pens etc
Random hair brush that I'm sure isn't mine
Colour swatches and pantone booklets...

In my defence this is the messiest it has ever been, but this is only because (I cant be bothered to clean it) I have had a few people in ordering and haven't been able to sort it out yet-honest

I'd been toying with a 'picture of your desk' thread for a while, but hadn't got my arse into gear over it.

Half eaten banana, empty bottle of Lucozade, Paracetamols, iPod, wallet, phone, stack of blank CDs, calculator, desk phone (which I never use), stack of jobs which I should be working though. Sorry I can't make it sound any more exciting. :nerd:

I was surprised I couldn't find a thread on it (not that I actually was arsed to look for one) and because mine is so...well...just so I thought I'd make one

I think you should join the World of Stuart forums, Shin. I honestly can't think of two people more perfect to share some internet space with each other than you and Stu. Heck, I'll even sub the £2 a month for you if you'll start these threads over there.

Make as though you are about to text the pic to someone, and then instead of a number, change to text and put in your e-mail address. This sometimes works.

Hmm. I bought a cable for mine off eBay for a couple of quid so I could transfer stuff off/onto it using USB. Might be worth investigating that? Unless you have a (micro) SD card in your phone?

No, I did not say it for wanting you to not be here, else I would have said:
"... I'll even sub the £2 a month for you if you'll start these threads over there instead", but rather it is because I would just find some interest in the reception to the slew of new threads. You were not around before The Great Divide, so it's perhaps not something you could fully appreciate without some explanation from Gazchap, if he has not explained it already. It would probably result in Dudley being banned, whatever the sequence of events.

A 2-inch thick matted layer of cables covers any not-otherwise-occupied area of my desk. It also contains 6 own company products in various states of dismantlement, a fancy IP phone that I haven't bothered to learn how to work, a 3-channel power supply, a 1977 vintage digital counter, a lamp, a soldering iron which is "on", about 40 smart cards, a broken pair of headphones, a scalpel, a stained coffee mug, a ruler, and a dell PC with a bunch of stuff hanging out the back of it.

A desk fan, a letter addressed to the old owners of our house which I should have posted on at lunchtime, several old copies of the Guardian, half a dozen partly used note pads, a phone, a handsfree phone headset thingy which I can't bring myself to use, a PC, a stained coffee cup, a copy of "The Last Broadcast" by Doves, a calculator, car keys, a bottle of sparkly mineral water I nicked from one of the meeting rooms, several legal journals, a stapler, a copy of "Reading Writing and Arithmetic" by The Sundays, a cardigan, a digitial dictation widget I don't use, a congratulations card for a mate who's getting married tomorrow whose wedding I can't go to, several pens and piles and piles and piles and piles of paper with words on.

On my desk at work (which is where I usually post from when I don't have PAINFUL HOLES IN THE INTERIOR OF MY FACE) I have:
- Work laptop on laptop docking station.
- Apple keyboard and crappy Dell mouse plugged into aforementioned docking station.
- Fancy IP phone on which I don't know what half the buttons do.
- Dock for my iPhone.
- Company branded mug which I keep pens in.
- Scale model of a Ferrari F430 Spider (to remind me, rather optimistically, of what I do such a dull job for).
- Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Henry Jones Snr. on Lego motorbike (which the cleaners manuipulate into ever more worrying sexual poses each weekend).
- Rubbish looking Bonsai tree which my brother brought me back from Japan and which I don't know how to grow since all the instructions were in Japanese.
- Much-less-exciting-than-it-sounds encrypted Government laptop which has to stay bolted to my desk. Presumably so I don't leave it on a train or something.

My desk is usually pretty tidy, but only because I shove all my paperwork each day into my desk drawers. Those drawers are a fucking mess however.

A desk fan, a PC, an external CD-ROM drive, a pile of papers, a very dusty CD, a book on XML, a packet of tissues, a photo of me and my wife, a pencil, my mobile phone (Nokia N81 8GB), a passcard to allow me into the building, a coaster, two more bits of paper, a block of square notepaper, my keyboard, my monitor, my mouse, my Makers Mark mousemat, more paper, my keys, my wallet, a bookmark, a stapler, a copy of Visual Studio 2008, a book on ASP.NET, more paper and my big mug of tea.

If I did that on mine I'd end up with staples embedded in my mush :D

Right, desk looks less like a science experiment now...I still cannot fathom who owns that hairbrush though
