Could we have a thread where people can request assorted rare/hard to find things? Provided we avoided the pitfalls of it turning into a blatant wholesale piracy thread (ie, people posting megaupload links to new albums etc), it would be nice to help out each other on various random things like an obscure PC Engine Rom, a scan of a particular magazine of an old games mag or a long deleted b-side by your favourite long forgotten new wave band from 1983.

Thoughts?

I am fully alongside this idea. Indeed, under a Mr Chris administration this sort of thing would be positively encouraged.

Oh, I didn't realise you had asked for the book in this thread, well...

FOUND IT!

It's er... a bit pricey...

...Thinking about it, my copy isn't that precious to me. Zing! Amazon marketplace, calling? :D

If Grim... doesn't have a problem with it, then neither do I. Ultimately he carries the can.

Talking of expensive things.

My copy is precious to me, but maybe not that precious.

Course, it hasn't sold at that price...

This is sensible if you ask me. For things like that Tom Waits video I converted.

Another request:

mp3s of the episodes from series 1-4 of Old Harry's Game that weren't included on the commercial CD releases.

That really is BBC worldwide's most annoying trait - putting half of two series into one release - at least series 5 & 6 were put out in their entirety.

Aye, this is a great idea. Thanks to someone on WoS (without a search I can't remember their name, sorry) and who may be here too I managed to get hold of the Silver Sun album.

Massive thanks, in fact.

According to wikipedia, Series 1 Eps 2, 3 & 4; Series 2 Eps 3, 5 & 6; Series 3 Eps 4, 5 & 6 and Series 4 Eps 1, 5 & 6.

I also discovered that they've now released the complete series 1&2 so that's been ordered but assistance greatly appreciated. Imagine complete 3&4 will follow as well in due course.

Okay, these are converted from BBC7's RealAudio stream so the quality isn't the best. I've encoded them as ~64kbps VBR MP3s and they sound the same as the original RA files to me. I've uploaded the first one so you can see what the quality's like, then download the rest (S03E05 & 06 and S04E01, 05 & 06) if you're happy with it.

(I'll leave the rest to upload overnight and post a link tomorrow)

If anyone has NTSC Sega CD games, namely Keio Flying Squadron, PANIC! or Heart of the Alien (yes, I know), I would be interested in buying them.

I've got a Keio Flying Squadron. I'm not sure about it being NTSC though.

As I'd imagine one of the region convertor carts as being even rarer than hen's teeth, NTSC-U/C only, sorry.

I only ever saw it (and PANIC!!!, and many others) only ONCE in HMV only... and I only had about $15 at the time, so I had to choose instead between the Bubblegum Crisis and Project A-ko Screensavers.*

*BGC ftw, obv.

Whereas I do actually own a Mega CD region converter cartridge! I don't want to sell it though so, er, sorry. Just felt like gloating!
